She is 90 minutes north of Miami....... we are hoping it will drop to a cat 3 or 2 by her if it goes her way...... She is in West Palm Beach.

They always lessen once they hit land........ and saying might go besides the Islands so still be a cat 4 hitting Miami.


She told me Hurricanes are easier to deal with the Earthquakes..... but she is having second thoughts with the size of this one....

Have some friends in St Martin that bore the brunt of the eye today. They're ok but not much left of the infrastructure. Barbuda is practically wiped out, and not to be the bearer of bad news but there's yet another hurricane on its tail called Jose that's currently developing in the same spot.

We cross our fingers that every relatives and friends are or will be ok, We have 2 condos in Delary Beach, abouth 20 miles south of West Palm Beach. We are 5 minutes west of the 95. We can only hope for the best.

Thoughts with you Stephane. This is a massive storm with another on its tail. I have a friend in Fort Lauderdale and she will not leave, thinks it is safer to stay. Said yesterday people would not believe what is going on there, cars lined up around the block for gas, long lineups at banks to get money. Cars lining up at gas stations that have run out in hopes of a fuel delivery.

I've got my fingers crossed also!

I have a place ocean front on a barrier island up in Vero Beach. Most friends left yesterday or are heading out today. Luckily my place is made of poured reinforced concrete and has faired well through past hurricanes, besides minimal water damage. When I left a few weeks ago, I prepared it, so everything is inside stored and hurricane shutters are all in place. Garage also has a hurricane rated reinforced door, so storm surge/flooding is my main worry.

I'm going to a Pagoda ( Merc-Benz body 113 ) meet in Virginia next weekend ( Sept 15th ) then from there continuing down to Florida, to store the 230SL for the winter and check on the condition of our place, and do any needed repairs.

I was in Delray Beach a month ago..... hope everything is safe for both posters with places there.

A lot of livelihoods will be impacted with this storm "like none other".
Lets hope the man running the show down there has support and assistance that will also be "like none other" before him.
I will be watching whether Trump will be a leader that really gets his hands into the mess (with Texas & this Storm) or
whether he will be a leader that just stands in front of everyone who is doing the work and just take the credit
(like we saw with Calgary's Mayor during the Flood).
I am speculating already what it will be ... very few Leaders show that they are actually involved in the help
(like we witnessed with New York's Mayor on 911 - as an example).

Thoughts are with those having to survive in the path of this Hurricane.

Trumps home is in the path in West Palm Beach...... drove by it once when he was there.... surprised they let us get that close... 2 blocks from him.Got pictures of Air Force 1

So much population on the east coast from Miami up to Jupiter .... hope it misses or hits the west side....... though have some car friends in Naples too

Storm is down to Cat 4 only by 2mph .It was noted that with warm waters ahead may increase intensity .The path has not changed .
I have two friends one in Key West and one in Homestead that plan to ride out Irma both are a little foolish .
As snow birds we booked into Big Pine Key for two week and Orlando for a month .
Note there are web cams both in the Miami area and Key West that you may be able to watch until power is lost .
