Incredible E-Ray Deal

So in Alberta, you would only need to pay GST and luxury tax?
It’s a cash grab on top of a cash grab , lol . The so called luxury tax is calculated on top of the other taxes . Double dip so to speak .

The Canadian luxury tax is added to the price of the item before GST/HST is applied. This means GST/HST is calculated on the total of the purchase price plus the luxury tax amount. So, yes, the luxury tax is included in the base for HST/GST, making it effectively taxed twice—first as a luxury tax, then again as part of the GST/HST calculation.

That it is.
And yes , in Alberta and here in the NWT as well there is only 5% GST . No HST at all so on my 2024 that saved me close to $12,000 compared to purchasing in most provinces in the country which made up for the increased cost of the MY24 . Not having to pay the extra 10% on everything you buy that is taxable really adds up over the run of a year. It can be very significant when purchasing a new house for example.

So it may worth the drive to Daven Port Motorsports for installs? And to see our country from the east.

It still works out to $178,600 when you include taxes which is a lot of dough for most people. But compared to list it is quite a discount.
same thing can be said for $125,000 C8 Stingrays when a Mustang GT can be had for $60,000, but this is a Corvette forum so there must be someone who might be looking for a deal on an E-Ray

I have been evaluating my financial choices lately and buying a fully loaded 2024 stingray for $148,000 out the door, when I had a perfectly great 2021 2LT that cost me $103,000 out the door was dumb ;)

I hear you. Perhaps now you wish you had of kept the 2021 ? I have only ever driven a 24 but suspect the experience would be similar from a driving standpoint with any year of C8 ? The only Mustang that really compares at all would be the Dark Horse which can run $90,000 loaded plus taxes but there is no comparison really. Everything is getting more expensive almost every day. I saw three bell peppers the other day for $7.29 , lol .

No, I would definitely keep the 2024 now that I have it ;) but it brought me to a conclusion that I don’t need any other variant of a C8 and if GM screws up the C9, I might just keep my 24 forever now that my favourite colour is discontinued.

A corvette is a sense of occasion driving experience and normal daily driving seems like a waste and at those times I don’t need all the options so a 1LT HTC would accomplish everything I need and want from a summer fun car.
