importing usa car without a title -- the process?

Hi, has anybody here:

1. purchased a usa car without a title,

2. applied for the title while being a resident of canada while car sits at the norder or in a temporary storage location in the usa?

Hey Viking:

Personally, I wouldn't buy any vehicle without a title, much less one from the US. Maybe you can find something out on the Canada Customs Site at Canada.ca
Importing a vehicle - Travel.gc.ca

Probably have to paste that in your browser coz I didn't know how to make a link out of it.

Seller should be able to get a title from their state DMV. If they can't I would look for another car with a title to buy. You have to give the title to US customs and have them "Export" the car before you can bring it into Canada. Have a look at www.riv.ca

thnx guys.

its allright boys ive done my homework and i know what im doing. there are many reasons for a us based car not to have a title. just make sure there are no liens!!! old cars commonly are missing titles.

im merely asking to see if anyone else has done it the way im going to do it.

thnx for the import contact to as ill most likely be coming up the west coast with the car.

ill let u guys know if i pull the trigger
