Check the "tire" thread 4 good info on rubber...I just installed BF goodrich TAs on my '78..((car runs better than with the eagles (only3000 mi.,but 17 yrs old))
I got my 1978 Corvette delivered on June 5th 2015. I polished and waxed the car and now it requires some work in order to safety the car.. Front calipers which was replaced yesterday and it needs stabilizer bars.....
SlyMart that is a really nice looking car. Best of luck getting the few issues sorted out. At least you are not looking at "exotics" pricing on parts and there are lots of vendors.
SlyMart...
Great looking car..I like those.. They were a big deal back in the day.
Don't forget to get another set of rims and new tires and keep the originals for local shows only.
enjoy

You said the car needed brakes. Did you keep the original calipers? Original parts on a Canadian Pace Car are something I would be hanging on to at all costs.
The calipers got replaced. they leaked.. I didn't keep them.. Anyways I am not going to sell this car and make money off of it.. I will keep it for a long long time..
nice find SlyMart, we have someone in our club here in Simcoe Ont, that has a pace car that he bought 2 years ago from a family that purchased the car new with 13K on it, it's in great shape and i'll be seeing him this w/e on our 1st run. I'll send him a link to this thread ... if you happen to be going to the Vet show in Bayfield in July he will have it there I believe. I know the 1st thing he did was buy new tires for his car, he was able to find new tires that were like the GoodYear OWL's that came on his car when it was new as it still had the original tires on it.

if you are replacing the stabilizer bar bushings use the original rubber ones not the nylon ones as they squeek badly after a while also try to keep all the original parts from the car when you replace them, that is important for a collector car. The original parts such as calipers can be rebuilt and put back on the car, the longer you own your pacer the more you will understand how important originality is if you ever want to enter into the NCRS judging arena. Get those calipers back if possible!.
