my vette is stored in a neighbours garage while they are in Florida...nicely blanketed and covered on a battery tender. I have resisted starting her and just poked my head in to check the battery tender every so often. But today I broke down....uncovered her and started her up. I have a silly tradtion of playing the same song every time I buy a new vehicle to be played as I drive away from picking her up...Boston ..”Foreplay/Long Time”...I pushed the start button and the engine roared to life....the stereo booted and guess what....Boston stared on that exact trac...it was like the car was saying thank you and welcome home.

I cranked the tunes and sat there bobbing my head with a big grin on my face. The neighbours probably thought I was nuts. Any way I let her run long enough to fully warm up and turned her off. I plan on moving her to my garage shortly then I can at least start playing with her before driving season starts.

I thought you might get a chuckle out of confessions of a OCD owner.

Cheers

Well, so far Kevin I haven't heard anything there that pretty near every one of us relates totally to. Our songs may be different but the OCD when it comes to our baby's is the same. I had heard so many stories about faulty battery tenders this season that I unhooked mine before I left for Costa Rica. And on that note, 26 days later, she fired up right away. So nice to know the phantom drains on the battery aren't as bad as I thought they might be. And as i did with my C6, I also put the C7 into reverse and set the parking brake when she goes to bed.... just in case the same urban legend applies to both generations. Going out this weekend to start getting her ready for spring. She will get her habitual winter wax and detail job, some loving rubs in all the right places, and then put back to bed and under the covers until either spring comes or I need another "fix"..... Ahhhhh.... Boys and their toys.... It's a wonderful thing.....
:yesss: :worship:

Mine sits plugged into the tender,in neutral. Should it be in reverse? And I have a simple minds CD in the deck. It comes onto the song,,,,”let there be love”
I don't know for sure Mike. That was the buzz with C5's and C6's a few years ago. Supposedly the parasitic draw on the battery is less when the M6 is put in reverse and the parking brake is set. If yours is on a tender, it probably doesn't matter a whole lot. I think the guys who don't drive for a week or two at a time probably did it the most as the C6 especially can be notorious for drawing down the battery fairly quick. Especially if your battery is starting to get tired anyway. Whether it's an urban legend or not, it can't hurt.

Well,I’ll be starting her up a little later. I’ll put her in reverse once I’m done. Thanks Eric. You’re not the first person I’ve heard this from.

Just so you guys know this is much the same as that stupid groundhog. Take the cover off six more weeks of winter. It your fault Kevin.

That's only the Ontario groundhog.... Our groundhog saw his shadow too but I shot him before he could run back into his hole.... thus we are going to have an early spring.... :p
