I need 39 Corvettes any year for a charity event on October 22, 2011 .

Please read below :

Hi Manny
Trust your summer went well and you were able to get a bit of a break. I have attached to 2 PDF's for you

1 A copy of an ad we are running in Old Autos to the attention of Corvette Enthusiasts

2 Invitation to Southern Nights

We have a great night planned and what we were hoping to do was to get approx 40 Corvettes to line up in the parking lot of Whistle Bear Golf Course to create excitement and display as people arrive for the evening .We have one of the ribbers from Ribfests that sets up his big cooking rig in the parking lot and we wanted to frame it with Corvettes.

We thought we would offer a Corvette owner that would display his or hers Corvette a 20% discount on the 100.00 dollar ticket . It incredible value and for the 80.00 dollars the Corvette owner gets

$50.00 income tax receipt (min value 15.00)
all you can eat ribs /dessert/coffee/tea (min value 30.00)
3 tickets on the Corvette ( value 20.00)
square dance
live country music performance
door prizes
live auction
raffle

Plus we will have a contest for Sothern Nights best Corvette selection $80.00 dinner certificate at the Cambridge Hilton
Its great value and lots of fun we would sit all the Corvette owners at the same table or if they wanted to bring friends we would sit them together. We are looking for approx 40 Corvettes to build the display outside with. Anyone interested should call the centre , book their tickets and make sure they indicate they are bringing a Corvette so they can receive the discount and we can plan for placement of cars
We take Visa /MC and American Express
Thanks for your help with this let us know if you need any additional info

Regards

Nasty -- you've got 'Corvette Fever' -- where you have trouble deciphering the calendar.

I hope it's the 29th and not the 22nd but you've got 22nd on your original post and 29th on the latest post.

C.

Fixed 22nd is the date , early morning wasnt quite awake lol

I may be able to make this as well. The cost is $80.00 is that just for the driver ? If I was to bring my wife is there another $100.00 cost ?

That I'm not sure of , but if you call Glen , his number is in my original post , I'm sure he can answer that for you .

haha, I know the feeling.....

Got a family function that day but will try to work around it.
Need to know times involved. Margaret is working (Red Cross) that day to about mid - day hopefully and will come when she's done.
Terry and I can come pending times involved.
Sounds like a great event for a very worthy cause and we'd love to help out.

Come on folks -- this will be a good one and nearing season's end for our Vettes.

Let's show off our rides and help out for a good cause.

Colin.

I'm assuming it's for car and passenger Z51 so $80 for driver & passenger not $80 each.
I'm phoning in my order for a ticket now and will ask.

Ok I've spoken to Glenn Crichton of Coping and the ticket purchase is for one person only. So each person who goes must have a ticket even tho they are a passenger.
Corvette owners/participants will get the discount as well as their spouse/friend/passenger who must also buy a ticket at the discounted price of $80.

All funds raised at the event will go to the Coping Centre of Cambridge on Blair Rd. (near the roundabout)..

Hope that clarifies the situation for you.

I asked if I could order a ticket now and Glenn took my name and number and will have the business office 'phone me tomorrow for all details and payment and proper registration.
Glenn's number is at the bottom of Manny's post and the centre's details are in the link below.

I also asked about what time the proceedings would kick off and the plan is to have the corvettes and owners there about 4:30 in the parking lot to arrange the cars so that when people started coming in about 5 they could view all the great rides as they entered.

After all the proceedings of the evening, things would wrap up around 11pm.

Sounds like a great time for a very worthy cause and I'm buying a ticket now and hope to meet a lot of you members there with your rides too.

Here's a link for those who aren't familiar with Coping :

Welcometo the Coping Centre

Hope to see you there -- It promises to be a great event for a great cause.

Who knows: one of us might win another Corvette in the draw that evening.

Colin. (CCO)

Got 2 tickets coming for Marg and me for the 'Coping - Bereavement' charity event called Southern Nights at Whistle Bear GC .

If you sign on fairly soon the organizers can have peeps/members/friends at certain seats together for the meal and such so call soon if you plan to attend.

It's for a great cause. The discounted price of $80 is for the driver and passenger and each must have a ticket.

As Manny's post says it includes so much including 3 chances for each purchased entrance fee to win a new 'Vette'!

Festivities and proceedings for the general public starts at 5pm and they'd like the 'Vettes to be there for setup at 4:30 for pictures, and people to see on entrance and of course to see what they may win in the raffle.

So give 'em a call -- Their number as stated in Manny's original post is:

You can also call the business office and speak to Shirley for info and registration.
She's at a toll free # for any out of towners:

1-877-554-4498

Monday to Thursday 9-4 leave message she'll call back.

This should prove to be a really fun event and for one heck of a great cause.

Hope to see you and your 'Vettes there.

Where is Greg and the other peeps on here? They've got great cars that should be shown off too.

99 thread views -- you'd think more would have signed up by now -- but it's early days yet.
Really hope to meet members and see their cars........and show some support for a great cause.

Just spoke to the folks at the Coping Center , and I am a little disapointed that they only have 3 Corvettes signed up so far, one of which is mine .
This is a very worthy cause as well as a great way to end the season . Lets show how the Corvette community can make a difference .

Talked to Coping today, too, (Shirley?) and my 2 tickys are in the mail as I'm sure yours are too Manny, -- She said we could all be at the same table and needs to know who's coming so she can make the necessary arrangements.

Sure would be nice to have more company/support from our group here.

BTW -- my brother can't make it that weekend. Has other plans away from town.

Come on folks....we need more numbers.:canada:
Don't wait until the last minute.

1/ Nasty98 -- 2 tickets
2/ CCO -- 2 tickets

Sorry to hear the lack of support. Would it be worth while talking to some dealerships to get some new Vettes out there too?

Worth a phone call for sure -- good idea Riley -- tho they'd probably have to trailer them to the location since (I'm told) most Vette owners (including myself) want as close to 0 kiloms on the clock as possible.
When I shopped there in August they had none. ( Mine was located in Toronto)
That GC is about 15 kilometers from my dealer so would add about 30 or more for the day's activities if driven.

Come on folks we need more rides for our COPING fundraiser at WhistleBare Golf on the 22nd. Time is getting tight so please come on out to show off those great 'vettes we have.

For those who don't want to participate in the evening's festivities you can just come for the car display in the late afternoon (4pm to 5pm) to welcome everyone as they arrive and show them what they might win that evening.
Yes someone will be going home with a new 'Vette after the draw at about 9pm.
and those tickies are very affordable.

Just tell Manny, me or phone COPING to let them know you're coming.
Will be a fun night but if you can't make the evening please come to the 'vette display and buy a ticket on a new 'vette. You could be the lucky winner.

Colin.
