Nice catch. I'll check with the snows change over lol.....on each tire rim - 4
We seem to not remember what type of car we have, so GM helps us out by putting it on the car several times.
Take a guess how many times, and then go count.
See if you are close.
Post your guess and actual totals.![]()
No it was introduced sometime after the roll out. Jack thinks it started in '21. I honestly don't remember except I was jealous. lol. Perhaps @canadianvetster knows and will provide some answer to his post.Does yours have the HUD ? That may be it .
I believe it requires the 2 or 3LT trim . A search claims it's been available since 2020. Unless it's an AI hallucination , lol .No it was introduced sometime after the roll out. HUD came standard on the C7 2LT and 3LT only as well and it came with the HUD compatible windshield. Lots of C7 owners replaced broken windshields with the cheaper non HUD glass and said it made no difference to the display.I believe it requires the 2 or 3LT trim . The head-up display (HUD) windshield first became available on the C8 Corvette when the model launched for the 2020 model year. The seventh-generation Corvette (C7) already featured a HUD, and Chevrolet carried this technology forward into the new mid-engine C8, integrating it into the 2LT and higher trim levels starting in 2020 .Earlier generations of Corvettes, such as the C5 (introduced in 1997), were the first to include a HUD system at all; however, the C8’s HUD required a specialized HUD-compatible windshield designed to properly reflect and align the projected image. That HUD-specific windshield has been standard on all C8 trims equipped with the HUD option since the 2020 launch .
The factory imprint at the bottom passenger side of my windshield says HUD . Would seem now you need that one in order for the HUD to show up . On the driver side at the right angle and light you can also see about a 4 inch square in front of the projector that looks different than the surrounding glass . Shudder to think what a replacement would cost. I do like it though.HUD came standard on the C7 2LT and 3LT only as well and it came with the HUD compatible windshield. When the C7 first came out in 2014, a GM HUD replacement was $2800.00. Year after year that dropped in cost as other glass companies started making them. I replace mine in 2021 and it was $1200. Luckily I caught a gravel stone that came off the deck of a concrete truck when he went over a bump. I got the truck number and company and paid them a visit. Took a bit of convincing but they paid for it.The factory imprint at the bottom passenger side of my windshield says HUD . Would seem now you need that one in order for the HUD to show up . It has nothing to do with the HUD. It has to do with the image of the word in the glass. I have HUD and do NOT have the glass with that word in it. The glass with the name in it wasn't initially on the car. It was introduced at a later date.I believe it requires the 2 or 3LT trim . A search claims it's been available since 2020. "The words "Team Corvette" and the silhouette of Zora Arkus-Duntov were added to the windshield of the C8 Corvette for VIN 11000 and above, which began appearing on early 2020 models. While initially planned for the 2021 model year, the etching was implemented early in the 2020 model year production run. "
11000 vins are mid year, not early if I recall correctly.
