how come the Camaro guys

Q: Why doesn't a Group of Corvette Guys do burnouts when together, asks the "inquiring minds" of a Group of Camaro Guys?
A: Well it may be in-part because the Group I'm in is known as a "Fever of Stingrays" and not a "Drove of Asses" ... :meh: ...

Back in the day, it seemed to be the village idiots who sat there burning their tires off the rims. In racing, the saying was, "If you are spinning, you are losing." Never did see the sense in it myself. We all know that musclecars can burn the tires off so it is no big deal if someone does. Back in the 1950s, it was a big deal if a person could get a squawk out of the tires at all. No big deal today. A friend with a 638 hp ZR1 told me about his car, pedal to the metal in third gear, breaking loose at over 90 mph. THAT is scary more than impressive.

... I smoked the tires of with my 1984 Z28 (loved it !)
... then in a 1986 Turbo GT Sunbird (because a FWD actually could)
... then in a 1998 Supercharged Grand Prix (hilarious see so much smoke out the front) ...
... now that I am back to rear wheel drive again
... I would only consider myself to be a fool if I repeat ...
... as I think it's the 0 to 60 thing that impresses me now more than the standing still smoke show ...

inquiring minds want to know

is it because we cannot?

Jeff

It is because they have muscle cars.....you guys drive sports cars...and if your a tool....like most of my brothers friends in the midwest were back in the day...burnouts is just what you do. My brother had a GTO and his two buddies had a Ford Falcon and a Chevelle. Good times !!!

My corvette is asleep in Brantford Ontario. I get to ride around in this at my winter home in New Zealand. This car belongs to a friend of mine and the pictures
Were taken out in front of my home. The car has lived its whole life in NZ. It is a 427 big block.

Couple of sweet things in that picture Peter. The ocean, the fact that there is no snow, and that sweet looking C3. Looks to be a 69? Gorgeous car:thumbs:
