I got news :
This corvette got a new Vin number shield in the door.I don,t know why, but the vin behind the windshield is not readable anymore. And it is a 1979 modell.

Norbert...
What’s the story as to why this got a new VIN number?
Write-off. Stolen..?
This seems odd? And why would they put a new vin tag on the DOOR?
That is a swapable part..normally vin-tags would be on a structure part of the car..

Your original VIN number should be formatted similar to this.
1Z8789S400001. for an L82 engine
Or
1Z8749S400001. Fir an L48 engine.

The last five digits are your serial number and should appear in numerous locations on the car..
Engine block, side of the transmission, frame rail in the rear wheel well..

This can all be checked once you have the car.

I still wonder why it was given a new number..?

I would be very careful with this car Norbert. At the very least, do a search on what ever serial number you have... Carfax search should tell you when, who, accidents, liens, etc. and is worth the small cost. Just my opinion but my spider senses would feel like pins and needles right now if it were me considering this car.

Man please make sure you get the answers to your questions about this car. There are lots of Corvettes out there please don't get into a mess with a car with a bad title/vin. Just not worth the investment, if it does not feel right don't do it. Just my opinion.

If the VIN is illegible by the windshield, I would be removing the A pillar covers for a close inspection. There is a very good chance the windshield frame and birdcage could be rusted out like Swiss cheese. This is a very common issue with the C2 and C3's.
