Hello, Just found the CCF! I would like to find out import numbers for 2000.

I just purchased a 2000 Vert (My first!!) Hoping for guidance.
Was thrilled when I found it, discovering it's a Canada Car!!

It's a Bowling Green Metallic vert, 777 produced. I am VERY curious as to how many of these were imported? My vert might be rarer than I think...

Thank you in advance for advice! Attached pics, differences so cool (to me seeing only USA Corvettes)

Hi Shady Lady. Welcome to our forum and congrats on your first Vette. Be careful though. They can become addictive... lol.... I'm guessing your Canadian model vert is likely somewhat rare but I don't have anything definitive. I would suggest a good place to start would be to contact the National Corvette Museum. National Corvette Museum – Home of America's Sports Car

Good luck and we'd sure like to see some pictures of your Vette.

Oh I can see the addiction already! Thank you so much!

Another possible place to find out info about your new-to-you Corvette is the GM Heritage Center located in Michigan. Their email address is: [email protected]. They promptly answered my questions in a couple of days for n/c, so a great service which I suspect is funded by GM (thanks GM!). For my 2020 C8 they were able to tell me how many were made with my particular colour choices/options and how many were shipped to the US or Canada. I understand they maintain Corvette stats back to the 1977 year so they should have all you need on your 2000. Good luck finding out more on your great looking Vette!

I heard back very shortly from a researcher at gmhc!

Thank you for contacting the GM Heritage Center.
I regret to say that we do not have the information you seek.
Reach out to Vintage Vehicle Services of Canada. I can’t say for sure but they very well may have the information you are looking for.

Vintage Vehicle Services | Option Informatio or 1-888-467-6853.

The website looks like the exact thing, production numbers for exports, can get code specific and everything! I sent a request for the proper form.

I will post how it goes with vintagevehicleservices.com!

I also bought a 2000 painted bowling green. My car is an USA car. I don't have the numbers but there weren't many painted in B green compared to the other colors. As you can see mine isn't green. I had it wrapped. I wanted to repaint it to it's original color but that option was to much $$$.
I don't want to rain on your parade but the one biggie that I don't like about the 2000 and earlier C5's is the EBCM. They all eventually fail and they don't produce them any more. So all that is out there are used ones. The owners of the used ones know how rare they are and charge accordingly. So my C5 currently does not have traction control or ABS. Plus there is a dash light that reminds me of this every time I start my car. But besides that I luv the car.

Hi!

Here's a production # link, tons of ads, scroll to the bottom....
2000 Corvette Production Numbers - CorvetteActionCenter.com

886 DBGM coupes (5% of coupes)
Then there are specific package/option numbers and percentages also.

The ABS thing... Yah, I found out about C5 issues while researching. I figure, I didn't have an ABS car forever... And "if he dies, he dies". Not planning on driving in any crazy weather anyway, so that had to be okay with me if I wanted a C5, which I totally did.

Agreed, the notification will be a bummer 😕

Love love love your wrap color!!!❤️

Yeah that's what I figured too. The older cars never had abs or traction control so you just have to learn to drive knowing that your the one in control. It's just those annoying dash lights. I put black tape over them but I still can see the glow.
Enjoy the ride.

Totaled a Ford Escort in damp conditions in 89. Township raised the road about 15 ft after my accident.
I was thrown somehow out of the driver door, pushing myself up, the car drive in front of my face. I ran about, getting the car moved and medical attention for my front seat friend, lip stitched, and my brother who hit his head on both back windows.

He said, it was like a miracle, you were there, then you weren't. (Door slammed shut behind me,) The car continued on after I was out, again, as I saw it pass by

One tiny verticle scratch 9n my left shoulder. I would have been with I'm inches of smashed. The car spun a couple times and hit a guard rail head on, about when I was ejected.

Hi,

I haven't received a response from vintagevehicleservices.com yet. I will send a follow up. Their website says they have the import information I am looking for,

I bought the "ALL 1997-2004 CHEVROLET CORVETTE COLORS CODES & QUANTITIES...How rare is Your C5 Coupe, Convertible, Hardtop or ZO6?" By Robert Casey. Porported to have export information. It does not, but nice to have. Gave me one or two more clues...getting closer...
Many if not all DBGM has the wrong paint code on the SPID label. Interesting.

Also, if I understand, 194 (total out of 32k+) units were exported to Canada?

But then this...
Oak on Oak is the most produced combo with green, total 702. (If you have a green with a black interior and white top, you've got one of 2)
This stat drills me down a little closer still... Green with Oak/Oak - Manual 188. Green with Oak/Oak Manual w/ Z51 (check, this car has everything you could get, right to 12 disc changer (except not upgraded wheels).

I see here: 67 total out of 32k+ (It does make sense, it's not a thrilling color, more classic and with the oak, yah, you take it to the golf course, you don't need performance etc.
.
So how many of the 67 in the world went to CANADA??

Must confess, Ive been running errands every afternoon, and... I just want to keep going! I feel so shy though, I like just driving. It sounds freaking amazing, and so tight. Mostest fun ever. Need to get used to people looking at me when I get out!
