Hello From Toronto

Just a tip @ddgermann if you type the @ symbol and the member name (like I did with yours), and now with @SN-III it will notify the member that he has been named in the particular post. Usually prompts them to go there and see the post

@Rruuff Day

Thanks for the tip. However you assumed Spence has or might miss a post.

Spence is the expert on this. Hopefully he reads this and answers. ;)

and yes Derek....I mistakenly misread your use of the word hopefully before giving it my full attention to context and subject member.... :keyboardwarior:

For those with invitations to Spring Mountain, when/how did you receive those invites? My dealer did not mention this. Does it come directly from GM?

Hello Lupo (Marcello),
Welcome to CCF and thank you for your pics and introductory comments.
Very understandable that you have Derek's attention and I like his photo reply back to you
as it is showing @MikeysZ06 Blue C6 behind him - who is a great member of the "CCF Blueman Group" (and with his comment above).

Lots to say in these forums and in reading through this one of yours, I would like to follow through with what you have experienced with your Selling Dealer not providing information to you in regard to the Corvette Owners' School (COS) - Ron Fellows - Spring Mountain - Pahrump Nevada Opportunity.
Corvette Owners School

An invitation may not come your way directly from General Motors but this does not mean that GM doesn't care - it's in the Corvette Sales Brochure - if you were able to get your hands on one. I actually first found out about the opportunity from the Owner of a GM Dealer who does not sell Corvettes - and who I know quite well. GM relies on the Dealer and more specifically the people involved in your New Vehicle Delivery (your Salesperson and the Finance team member). No reflection that your delivery was not good as there is a fair amount of time and information to pass along to you already. After all, it is important that they familiarize you with all of the do-dads in your Corvette before you drive away. It is also important to the Dealer that you are offered all the profitable add-on opportunites (x-warranty, accessories, etc).

The COS is something I recommend for the New Corvette Owner whether seasoned or not. Some are not crazy about the "nominal" US$1000 cost even when knowing that GM takes care of the rest of the cost. Not only is this opportunity excellent for taking you through virtually every aspect of your new Corvette, it has a session that takes you through a comprehensive delivery orientation that is over and above what the Dealer Salesperson has done with you. It is difficult to say so much in so few words. I will leave this for you to digest, research and feel free to ask anyone in these forums about it. Should you decide to go, you have the opportunity to mention a name of a referring Owner who has already taken the course (or soon will be like Derek) and that person will receive a $100 credit on their account for future programs at the facility. Please do not hesitate to send me a message with any other questions/concerns.

@ddgermann and my wife are signed up for the COS this March 30 & 31. The event caters to every driving style and these two represent opposite ends of the spectrum. I am looking forward to how each will relate to their experience as I experienced nothing but smiles from everyone when I attended at the beginning of April 2017.

here is a link for you to explore:
Spring Mountain Corvette Owners School Easter Weekend - 30&31 March 2018

Welcome once again & enjoy these forums ... it is nothing like any other for reaching out to your Corvette Colleagues.

If the opportunity exists for you, I too will recommend the Meet In The Middle Event in Winnipeg this year (link in message above).
It is a First-of-it's-kind Event for CCF and one that many are looking forward to.

Cheers, Spence

Spence- Thank you for the detailed response and context around COS. I'm clear on the process and will link this up with the annual trip to Vegas my wife and take each year. It sounds like a blast, and most importantly will help me understand the car and my own driving limits much better. I did a track day with Audi a few years back hosted by Scott Goodyear and it was incredible--this sounds even better.

Lastly, much appreciate the hospitality and insights from all the members I've been fortunate to interact with in the short time I've been a member. Thanks all.
