Hello all

Wes, welcome to the forum. Please let us know what you are looking for in terms of your Corvette.

Hi Wes..
Welcome to the CCForums! Where are you located?
Everything you need is right here....almost! Ha ha

I think what you need to look for is a Corvette that was bought new by a little old lady, only driven on Sundays and only in good weather as well as kept in an air-conditioned garage
Fully maintained with all records and all original parts tagged and labelled in storage.
Anything less becomes a hobby.

AND, most important, if you find a Corvette as described above could you please ask if she has a SISTER!!!

Graham

… Don’t Do like I did. 3rd C7 in a year and a Half (2 ‘19 within 5 months, of each other) … lol
I feel closely with that remark … finally getting my butt into a Corvette pilot seat in July 2016 and but one year later having my lovely Wife doing the same ...
only to enjoy COS in Pahrump with her this past Spring and coming away with asperations of a ZR1 by trading in both Stingrays. What the hell is wrong
with me … I am torn with the selling shenanigans of the ZR1 in Canada being a saviour for my wife and I or it being a hinderance. It is a win/win either
way this goes though … as the provincial economy is playing in as a Duck that is not staying put as I try to line them all up ...

At least you still have both cars Spence. Mr Hollywood and I have a similar experience. 3 corvettes in a year and a half for me. 1 C6 and 2 C7 Z06s. Took a bath on the first 2 and was all set to take another one on the 17 but the ridiculous dealership gouging in the ZR1s is the only thing that prevented it. 😂
How do you spell huge first year depreciation? “CORVETTE”.

Yup … Bang On … I'm "stinky" in that I have not taken a "Corvette Bath" …. yet (?) ...

IMO, that rings pretty true with any new vehicle purchase. Other than it's so sweet driving a NEW car off the lot, the low mileage 'used' is always the better deal if you're counting pennies... Oh... wait... Pennies are gone... Counting quarters....

Yoikes ... from pennies to quarters 😳... Mr. Cheapa$$ in me still counts the “Canadian Pesos” that are smaller in size than the 4 quarters I see from my pocket change ... 😂

Hey 😳 along with my new Coupon, I have enough for an Egger and Coffee tomorrow. I know it’s not Summer yet but thinking how much I love driving to A&W on Sunday in my Corvette just to use a COUPON 😂👍🏻

Yes true but a loaded Z06 has some pretty big numbers using even the common depreciation indexes.
That was my point. I suppose it wouldn’t be quite as painful with a 1LT Stingray

Thanks for the warm welcome I will be purchasing a c7 at some point but will not likely be till next spring as I in the process of completing a 68 GMC truck project

We like truck projects too.
Some pictures and a bit of the story would be very welcomed here. 👍

It’s a 68 GMC and I’m doing a complete frame off customization with pretty much all new parts approx 425hp 327 Chevy engine with 700R4 transmission with 3.73 posi rear end and 15 in wide M/T drag radials in the rear and much more I will post a couple pics but I have a bunch of assembly to do yet

Thanks for sharing your project. Your truck looks fantastic already. The new gauges are very retro but have a nicely updated look to them. I can see you are completing every detail. Even the dresser looks great. Not sure where that's going to fit in... or is it holding all the $$ to do such a thorough resto/mod on the pick-up? Ya..kidding

Again; fantastic work and please keep us in the loop as you finish the assembly as your vintage truck will be quite popular with some members here.
The C7 you buy will not be remotely so much work if you're planning on getting a pre-owned one..... Or will it be?
Considering your skills; curious as to what you're planning... Buying new, slightly used or full on tear down and rebuild?

Derek
