2007 c6
I have recently purchased a 2007 c6 ,Auto trans.I love it! I am toying with the idea of putting on headers but the old man in me doesn't want to turn this work of art into a Roaring beast. A purring, slightly louder rocket is the goal. Can this be accomplished? If so how? thanks

Absolutely it can!!! Full bolt ons, headers, dun tune with a stock cat back would be my personal recommendation for what it's worth :). Wait a little bit also and our resident expert and friend Manny (Nasty98) will probably give you some much deeper insight into your options vs budget :)

A set of LG Motorsports Street series headers along with your factory exhaust will give you some nice HP gain's, yet still retain a mild exhaust note . If you then want , or feel that perhaps you would like a more aggressive note , we can do this via a cat back exhaust system from Corsa , Borla , Bassani , Magnaflow or any other system on the market.
The trick is knowing which one to pick so as again not to wake the dead eveytime you start the car.

We at ECP have years of exprience in this field and the A6 vette's are quickly become a specialitly here at ECP.

We had almost the exact same setup on my car before we turbocharged it. I must say they worked great for the money we had into it.

I agree with Manny with the LG headers and stock exhaust...Or you could even go with the NPP exhaust like the factory setup with the addition of the Mild to Wild Switch. You can control the sound with the wireless remote ----quiet like factory or loud anytime you want :D

headers

Wow Manny a response @ 5:20 am !!!
Yes my car is an A6 I suspect going the corsa And the NPP will be to rich for my needs and budget. Am I to assume just the NPP is not doable w/o the headers? Btw how much is it to do just the tune. Thanks for the help it is very much appreciated

And the NPP axle back would add how much in of terms of HP and $ please ?

Maybe 5-7 , and usually around $750 to $1000 for a used system .
$2000 for a new or aftermarket version .

Despite the claims , there is no HP gains from any of the axel-back exhaust systems .

You better off with a set of headers and tune for the money .

headers

Have you considered Z06 headers, cats and h pipe. A nice upgrade to your C6.

LOL flintstone, I've just reread your post and seen the "old" reference -- no worries -- Never too old. I prefer "mature", and as long as one can push on the peddles .......... let's have some fun.
I do agree with not wanting excessive noise tho.
I'm expecting a nice, albeit subdued, rumble when I stab the gas and a little more 'noise' the rest of the time.
I do have the bi-mode factory exhaust tho that I can control (Mild2Wild controller) for a more subdued sound for cruising.

If you're still on the fence, come to the 4th annual Coping fundraiser in May (26th) , see the thread in our 519/416/905 Regional Forum for details, and have a listen. I'm sure there will be quite a variety of modded exhausts to choose from -- and of course the Man(ny) himself I'm pretty sure will be glad to talk about it some more.

Cheers from another mature driver,
Colin.

Have you considered Z06 stock headers. I Have the headers, cats, and h pipe. I have heard of other members (from a different forum) going this route; 20-25 horsepower gains, and not noisy.
Manny would this work on my LS2? Any idea on what you would charge me to install ? Is it worth it ?
thank you. COLIN some days I feel real old other days I drive the Vette

Its not worth the time and money, for such small gains . It won't sound much different than what you have now , and the gains are tiny for the cost .

Keep your rear mufflers and add as set of headers . It won't be to noisey , but still produce a nice rumble .The gains are more like 38-40 at the wheels after tune .

Thats my advice .
