Got an E-bike .

Might want to park that sucker well away from anything combustible. This is not an uncommon occurrence. Had that one been parked in the garage........

Agree !!! especially beside your Corvette ;)

A friend in Uxbridge had his E-car take out his garage. I want to say it wasn't a Tesla, but I'm not sure. I hear Fast chargers are to blame for most ev fires.
Had an old iPhone 3s years ago which got put in a desk drawer after upgrading to a new phone. Couple of years later digging in that lower drawer for something I see the phone and the battery had swollen up to about an inch thick which actually had popped the case apart ! Just lucky something didn't puncture that battery as that is all it takes for them to go into thermal runaway.
Apparently , like you suggest , one of the biggest problems is using the wrong charger . There have been several serious fires in this area because of lithium batteries going rogue.

That reminds me that I have an old Samsung S3 somewhere and a spare battery for it . Don't know why I even kept it. Going to take a look now . This isn't the one I had that swelled but it looked just like this . .......
