GM Recalls C7 Corvettes Equipped with Competition Sport Seats

We’d hoped the new Corvette Stingray would be able to avoid General Motors’ recall woes, but now it’s clear that won’t be the case.

As part of the carmaker’s most recent vehicle recall, those who’ve purchased a 2014 Stingray with optional Competition Sport seats will need to have the passenger seat airbag replaced, according to an Edmunds report.

The recall is said to affect 712 of the 2014 Corvette models, which dealers will be fixing for free.

In the meantime, owners are being told to avoid letting children ride in the front seat. No injuries or crashes have been reported due to the airbag, according to GM officials.

For more information, contact your local dealer or call Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020
