GM Is Reportedly Planning to Expand the Corvette Line With an Electric Crossover

If this report is true, the Corvette nameplate could be used on more than just mid-engine sports cars starting sometime soon.

With the popularity of SUV's and many jumping on the "electric bandwagon" this isn't surprising, IMO. I doubt it will enthral the die-hard "Corvette enthusiasts" who might see this diluting the Corvette brand and storied history...

Just leveraging the brand in the SUV/crossover market. Porsche, Lambo, Alfa have all done it, and Mustang is doing it now. Wouldn't be surprised if GM followed suit as it's proven to be a life saving recipe for other manufacturers.

At the end of the day, they are what they are...big heavy vehicles with a lot of power. If someone is looking for an SUV, they are great vehicles no doubt, but you can't deny physics or hide the weight and expect them to perform like a modern day sports car.
