Hi, I'm new to the forum. I installed the lowering collar by Paragon last night and stripped the top shock mount bolts. I accidentally readjusted the torque wrench when I was torqueing them down to 22 ft lbs and two of the bolts broke. None of the dealerships in Canada has it and it will take up to two weeks to be shipped here from Michigan. What are my options to repair this?

On the other end of the good stud is it tacked on the strut mount or is it pressed in? If it's pressed in thread 2 nuts onto the good stud so the top nut is flush with the stud and hammer it out.

Take the good stud to a nut/bolt place and see if they can match it up, even if they don't have the right thread pitch ALA it's the same length and diameter you can install them and get it back onto the car (get new nuts to go with the new studs if different thread pitch).

BTW, 22 ft./lbs is not a lot of torque. On that fastener it's basically hand tight and with a socket/ratchet combo turn almost a 1/4 turn and you are good. No need to reef the crap out of it with a torque wrench.

Thanks for the replies. I got the broken studs out as well as the good one. Im thinking on using 3 exhaust manifold studs and grinding the heads flush to the aluminum plate then tacking the tops of the studs to the aluminum housing. My question is will the tack weld hold to stainless and aluminum.
