Guessing your C5 is an F45. You can definitely use regular shocks but you need to get a shock simulator kit to keep the ECU from throwing codes from not recognizing the electric shocks. The ECU can be over ridden but doing this has it's own issues. The simulator is the best way to go. Lots of aftermarket suppliers. Around $300 to $400 but still cheaper than spending $2000 for new electronic shocks. You may or may not notice a difference in the ride. Corvette Depot in Canada is one. Here's a link.
