I have done a ton of research on this. So here goes:

You can buy the crappy black diamond mesh on Amazon.ca for $20 CAD (yes, that is your $15USD mesh on .com)
But I would not put it on my car. And get sliced up in the process.
Or you can buy rhomboid (can you pronounce it?), honeycomb, hex, square, perforated, etc in metal and plastic. All over ebay, Amazon, AliExpress, and the rest of the net. Seen them all.
None are appropriate for this vehicle.

Spend the money and buy the proper set from customcargrills.com.
About $130 USD for the set of 4 fronts including shipping. Just ordered them myself.
They match the black 1/4" hexagon that is on the HCT bonnet and back bumper of my car. Not sure about the coupe.

Why put junk mesh on a $100K car?

Because that $100K car squeezed every dollar out of the budget.
The plastic fencing done properly looks fine and will protect the car just as well from 95% of the projectiles.
Wait until the price drops. c8vettesonline at $340 USD is just not worth it.
$200 CDN is getting better, but still way over priced IMO. Targeted at rich Vette owners perhaps.

Bang on Murray ! Why anyone would pay $350 USD blows me away. I am gonna make my own and install it. Actually, a friend called last nite and said he has some black coated mesh that i can have for free . I mean really, how hard could it be to solve this issue urself....
I agree. I make some parts when I can make them look good and I do my own powder coating as well (up to whatever size will fit in my oven).
