Rust? What's that Bill, a new GM paint colour? Opps.... forgot.... you're in Ontario.... I haven't seen rust since I left Nova Scotia. 
Most OPP officers in South Western On. will not ticket you for not having a front plate attached as long as it is in the car.
However there is an officer in Simcoe attachment of the OPP who will ticket you without hesitation because he believes this gives him bragging rites at the station and sets him in good standing with the required number of monthly citations issued.
Ever heard of good Cop bad Cop, this bad Cop is out to help no one but himself. He will also be on the water in summer in the long point bay area stopping as many boaters as possible. Be aware.
