When I pull into the garage to park, as the front of the car gets in almost all the way the image on the screen goes dark as the headlights come on because of the sensors . Garage lights are off. It starts out very bright on the screen when I push the camera button but then gets quite dim when the headlights come on. Anyone else notice this or is it a glitch ? Thanks for the reply…..

My garage lights are motion activated. They come on when I enter the garage. That negates that issue. Depending on what and where your garage lights are you can try motion activated switches or bulbs.

I suppose. Or hang a tennis ball on a string maybe. Not a huge deal just strange behaviour. You would think that you’d see more when the headlights come on, but not the case .

Do you not have garage door openers?
If you do, are the lights from them not bright enough?

When I say garage it’s actually a Shelter Logic unit that is set up in front of my real garage. I put a light in the middle on a motion sensor but it doesn’t shine on the floor in front of the car . Just odd that the brightness of the image on the screen from the cameras gets quite a bit darker when the headlights come on maybe two feet from where I want to stop . I guess you would have to see it .

I have a well lit garage, with 4x 100w equivalent 5000K LED bulbs in the two garage door openers and mine does it almost every time when the automatic headlights activate.

I suppose turning off the auto headlights would solve the dash/infotainment screen dimming which is why it becomes hard to see, but that is not an option for me.

I suppose turning off the auto headlights would solve the dash/infotainment screen dimming which is why it becomes hard to see, but that is not an option for me.

The lights built into the garage door open motor units come on and stay on for 5 minutes when I activate the doors or break the safety beam, so yes they are on when I am entering and driving into the garage.
Could be a few factors contributing to the "darkness", such as tinted windows in the car, but I doubt it that as it does it with the top down, or the original yellowed builder drywall not reflecting enough of the light.
Also when the door is in the open position it may be blocking the majority of the light from the motor units.

Must be that I have a 5 panel light right over the marks for parking. Lucky me! lol

Another work around is turning the dash display up full.
This would mean that you have to readjust when you drive at night unless you prefer it super bright.

Thanks for the input. I do have the display cranked up and it’s strange, almost as if the display was connected to the headlights in some strange fashion. The instant the headlights come on the camera picture on the display goes to about half brightness and gets slightly fuzzy. Not a major inconvenience but interesting behaviour nonetheless. Another first world problem, lol.

Designed that way. Headlights on = dark = lower display brightness. Get better lighting in your garage.

Nah...........I will just adjust the dash light control knob.

Sure , but then you wouldn’t be a ‘ Happy Camper ‘. Lol . Another couple weeks and she’s parked for the winter. At least here . Better order a couple of cases of wine.,..,,,,,,,,

Not here in southern Ontario, I will be driving into November or until they salt the roads.
I won't even schedule my oil change at the dealer until the end of October.

I think I parked mine October 20 last year. Very traumatized……….. Just not worth winter driving here with the extreme temperatures we can get even though salt isn’t used here at all.
