I believe it was chevy dude that posted that pic, I saw it in one of the facebook groups. It's a fake, he even said so himself.

How could they build two totally different cars on the same line? Different frames, engines, tranny and everything else.
This photochop will not win awards lol.

That's how it works.
New models can be integrated almost any where on the line. Part(s) for 1 unit take up basically no space. Not all test units are hand built.
It can be done, but it is seriously slow as the entire plant is set up to produce Vehicle 'A', not Vehicle 'B'.

Lot is filling up nicely !!
I saw it for myself when I did the plant tour last year at the Corvette Caravan. There were 3 C8 test mules being built at random in between a bunch of C7's being built. It was quite the experience to see, chance of a lifetime.

(we used to build up to 5 different models....on the same line / at the same time. They still do about 3 or 4 in oakville).
Bowling Green Assembly is a specialized plant. There have been rumours of (a new) Caddilac sharing the space....but rumours are just that, and for now, it's a 1 horse town.

It was witnessed, in the BGA plant by Turbozig, on a plant tour and clearly stated a few posts above.
No one cares about a photochop, or not.....the point is....THAT'S HOW THEY RUN ON THE LINE, IN THE ASSEMBLY PLANT......LIVE, IN COLOUR, NO PHOTOCHOP!

Currently there are 4 different models being built at the Ford plant in Oakville: Ford Edge, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKX, Lincoln MKT.
The Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX is the same vehicle, so super easy to build on the same line.
The Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT are also the same vehicle.
Oshawa (RIP) also built the Camaro alongside the Impala, but they were actually on different lines in the same facility. There's a fixed line where they churned out high volumes of one vehicle and a flex line that ran slower but could build multiple vehicles that weren't in such high demand.
It's not uncommon for one plant to build multiple similar vehicles at once, but it's uncommon to build two completely different vehicles on one line. The entire system is custom-made for one specific vehicle and every small change can make a drastic impact on overall productivity. The automotive industry is all about JIT and Lean/SixSigma. That's why you usually see one vehicle from one plant.
Yes, it does happen in the rare occurence with the C8 mixed in with the C7, but that was a test and wasn't a production run. It likely would have slowed the line way down as everything for the C8 was bespoke while the C7 was in production.
IMO, the argument isn't really whether or not it has happened, or could happen, but that the photo was clearly a fake, so why are we having this debate?
That’s what my debate was all about. He took the photo to be legit when it was stated that is was a fake, done by Chevy Dude. That’s all I’m talking about. Of course they built some C7s with C8s. That’s how we got all the mules in camo a year ago testing.
The 001 VIN rolled off the line yesterday as per Chevy Dude who pulled the VIN Builds. Hope you folks get some great news coming up for your Event Codes!

Yes, it's called a 'flex' line. It can produce multiple vehicles, but not as many as a fixed-line that's built to build one specific thing. The Oakville plant isn't a high-volume production facility. They make a little more than 200,000 vehicles a year, over two or three different models. There are about 4,600 employees here.
The Equinox, on the other hand, are all assembled in at one location, Ingersol Ontario (not including the European and Asian markets, which are assembled in China), where they only make the one vehicle. They produce over upwards of 350,000/year. There are about 2,800 employees here.
I have a background in manufacturing as well. I'm no stranger to how the auto industry works.
