Folks:

My dealer called. He had the ol' good news/bad news scenario for me. My order is currently on constraint because of the painted roof. He gave me basically three options:

1) Change the painted roof option to transparent for an additional $1000
2) Change to a visible carbon fibre roof* for an additional $1200
3) My car would not be built

I opted for option 1.

*Isn't the painted roof carbon fibre only painted? [shrug]

The good news is that because I went for the transparent roof, a build date will probably be assigned next week. He intimated that things will really ramp up once the TPW is assigned - he anticipates a November build and a December delivery. Yay! Just in time for storage. I will burn a whole tank of gas rolling the car back and forth 10 feet in my garage this winter.

He did add one interesting comment though. He said the Z51 option is also on constraint and my order is one of seven remaining 2015 Z51s that will be built and shipped to Canada. Not sure if that is accurate. Seems like I really lucked out if that is the case.

That is not correct... 50% of all Stingrays to Canada are allowed to be Z51. You car may be one of 7 that received Z51 allotment across Canada in the current allocation period, however...

ORRRR, they got an extra thousand dollars out of you. I guess I am just cynical but I have an old friend was a sales manager at a big Ford dealership in Toronto and he tells me all the stuff that went on. You would be really cynical after talking to him.

Z51 is NOT on constraint for Canada at this time.

I beg to differ...

I would be real cynical after reading most forums, too...

right on keith, and ray would have seen a lot. seems like an awful big pile of crap to wade through just to buy a car !!!!!

Luckily we have Owais to cut through that pile of crap for us. Give us the inside scoop if you will. :D

I went in and chatted with the dealer (the guy who does the ordering). Yes, the 1 of 9 it ends up being is the current allocation period for Z51s into Canada. The reason I went in was I saw a video with the visible carbon fibre roof and it looked amazing with the body painted sides (C2Z). I had opted for the CC3 transparent roof just a couple hours prior and wanted to see if I could change the order. The ordering guy checked and the C2Z is on constraint too with 0% availability through the next 4 weeks.

As I was walking out the guy handed me a print out of my order from GlobalConnect. It says I am still at event code 1100

He did say a TPW could be assigned as early as this week. What didn't print out and I saw on his monitor was a grayed-out TPW of 11/24 - 11/30. So, not sure what the date means really. He intimated that id my Vette is built in November, it could possibly get delivered by Christmas [perk].

Lastly I saw two MSRPs on the print out. One says MSRP of $75,790 and another that says MSRP w/DFC $77,590. Anyone know what "w/DFC" means?

As an aside, I asked if there was a price for Z06 vert that they sold and the order is still at WA or will advise. So, I can concur as of October 31, there is no Z06 pricing yet.

Would be really surprised seeing a Nov/Dec delivery... Curious... Who is your dealer?

Oh and Destination Freight Charge (DFC)

Ah, thanks for deciphering the DFC.

I am in Collingwood. The dealer here is Mike Jackson Motors.

Ryan, the guy I was talking to says things could ramp up real fast. It would be a nice surprise if I could have my baby by Christmas. I have been like a kid Christmas ever since June when the original order was placed. Dissettling to still be at 1100 since June too though.

I just find it a bit odd as several had stated to me that there was a stop of deliveries over the winter period for dealerships in our area. Since, however, I know of at least one delivered in January last year.

I asked my dealer and the answer was quote "We get cars delivered in the winter." Not sure if they get Corvettes mind you. Yes, I think C7Jake got his Vette in January.

We had 2 delivered during the winter last season and both needed a complete set of new tires due to excessive cracking. If GM ships Vettes into certain parts of Canada from Mid Nov to Mid March I'll be surprised. Then again maybe not so surprised...

Ouch! That will be a key item to look for when I go to inspect my Corvette. :(

Corvettes come all year round... The cracked tires were a specific issue related to some cars that sat too long before being shipped, it is not a normal issue related to winter deliveries on Corvettes..

Thanks for this info. I run the risk of getting my C7 in January and it is comforting to know that I can at least move it some limited dsiatnce without cracking the tires.
