i have classic/collector insurance on my '85. For $15/mo I keep it fully insured. If I was paying higher prmiums on a newer vette, I'd go with just fire and theft.

I keep mine fully insured...
When I eventually put her away I switch to fire & theft only.
If it looks like a good driving day, I just call my agent and she re-instates the insurance & I'm good to go. Then I call her when it back in the garage for a while again.
It's a very simple process all done over the phone.
My rates drop to $6.85 per/month with only fire & theft.
The last few years when I have called my agent to let her know I want insurance for the weekend I have never seen an increase in the $6.85 p/m premium.
