My turn on c8 won’t come until 2024 at the earliest - so in the meantime just pulled the trigger on the new 2024 mustang dark horse - local small dealer had a 1 allocation order already submitted and waiting for production to begin. Guess demand for those are lower. Should get it June-July.

Was either that or the horrendous used market for something. Getting Hard going my 3rd summer without a cool toy.

Anyone in similar boat on waiting? You give in and get something for the meantime?

Funny enough i have been checking out all of the used car options. Its become an obsession , but, the prices are crazy. I sold my 2021 lincoln aviator almost at the same time I placed my order for the 2024 c8. Dealer reached out got some crazy number for it. 21k and cermaic coated you know the drill. My wife was over the top happy since she now also had garage stall 2 for her car. She also has stall one for her summer car.
Im going to share her SUV and ride my new motorcycle I bought last year, 2022 BMW K1600GT 6 cyl rocket! When the days are nice I'll think I'm driving my c8 without all the hardware around me :)

Did you go to the S650 and get the painted stripes - Awesome Car.
I sold my 2008 Shelby GT500 last spring with 12,000 km on it. Silly$ to go towards the C8 fund - lol

Never heard of the Mustang "Dark Horse" but just looked at the Raiti's Rides YouTube video. Looks nice with its specs and 500HP isn't too shaby...should be fun ride.
Yea, been searching and looking at cars on autotrader for past 5 months, the C8 waits getting to me now so wana try to get in something fun in the meantime.
Did you get the Carbon Fibre wheels on the "Darkhorse"?
Nop those are too expensive, got all the other topics - just no carbon wheels and no painted stripes.

It's funny, the sun's out, feels like spring and it gets everybody thinkin! I am sure you have also looked at used 911's came close on one of those just before I dropped my deposit on the c8 . Just could not see the additional for a almost 10 year old car, no warranty and 900 of them for sale on AutoTrader !

Screw it, life is short and who knows what cards I'll be dealt over the next few years, so I bought a used C7 Z06 to enjoy NOW. I am on an E-Ray allocation list but it's anyone's guess when that order may materialize. I'm not interested in the Stingray C8 so I may just end up keeping the C7 Z and get a refund on my E-Ray allocation deposit if the wait is crazy long. Ya, I know, used prices are STUPID, CRAZY, and DUMB all at the same time.....but I don't think the pricing on pre loved units will be getting much better (in the short term) for the higher trimmed cars especially given the demand and short supply of new ones. Anyway, decisions such as this are 99.5% emotional with 0.5% logic and to be honest I wouldn't have it any other way! Life is good, I live with ZERO regrets, and I can't wait to meet some of you on the roads this summer 😎!

Yea looked at used 911’s, used 718 caymans - 5 year old cars priced at or above original msrp. And have to be careful with used P cars, a bad lemon can mean 1000’s in repairs.

I see you replied about the May 6 "Ponoka run" being organized by Rruuff Day, saying you couldn't make it. Too bad since that's your chance (and mine) to meet Forum members and others, to visit and "ooh and ahh" over their corvettes. I'd love to see you there, if your plans/schedule change. In the meantime, my C8 is my daily driver now so I can be found on the roads. I couldn't wait any more and had to unpark it at the start of this month; made possible by the all-seasons I put on last Fall. Post a photo or two showing your Z06 so we'll be better able to ID you on the roads.

The event in May is a for sure no go for me....but that doesn't mean we can't organize a few day trips this summer! And I will definitely post some pictures in a separate thread once the conditions around my yard improve. Still a ton of snow out here!

Once we get on the road I will swing by Willingdon for a beer….then head over to Mundare for some Kubasa…lol

For any wondering the thing was about $90K + tax (that’s MRSP, all options except the carbon rims). I was sticker shocked for a non Shelby mustang - ford priced it too high for what it is.

Makes the better performing C8 look like a bargain, the prices on C8 might be substantially increasing for 2024.

The real winner in all this are the governments that collect HST on every transfer of ownership. They can collect more in total taxes on a car than the MSRP of the car itself...
Plan is to get the DH hopefully this summer then trade in when C8 comes in - save the tax - hopefully the DH doesn’t loose much value in meantime as it’s priced high for what it is.

That's the correct way a welfare state should be set up! There are a ton of non contributors that want free stuff so just shut up and pay your taxes on taxes. 😅
