As suggested by AxeZ06 everything motorcycle related can live here !
Here's a nice little number to start things off . These great bikes have become very desirable and collectable over the last few years....... BSA 650 Lightning custom.

I just sold this very hard to find bike, yesterday.
After a 15-20 year search, I found it, and bought it last yr.
It had sat, stored in a garage for over a decade. I serviced and restored it, and had 5,000kms of fun with it.
Seller's remorse is running deep today.

The 13,500rpm red line, is..........neat.
The best thing about them, is, the gear driven cams. No timing belts or chains. The engine makes "music", and at certain rpm's, and if the wind is right, it sounds very cool.

I sense the regrets........ might have to buy it back , lol.

This is the last bike I owned. Not this very one but the same , even the color. 1976 KZ 1000 . Nice bike to ride in it's day . Pretty quick. Red line just under 9,000 if I recall. Very smooth power delivery. I sold it around 1980 . That may be why I'm still here , lol.

I had a '78 KZ 750. My first brand new anything. I rode it for a week and traded it in for a KZ1000, like above, but maroon. I remember the upgrade was $99.

And now you can't get a tank of gas for that price......

Labour day weekend, 2023, near Warren PA. A jumping deer came outta nowhere, and slammed my windscreen. I hit the guard rail, the rest is history.
Wrote the Yamaha FJR off while breaking a bunch of ribs and things.
My sorry (but alive) ass on the rail.View attachment 140676View attachment 140677
You were lucky! Shame about your bike but you walked away. Potentially dangerous machines for a number of reasons. Not the least of which is that in a crash you are the crumple zone ....... we can encounter , and often do , Bison on the highway. Right on the road. There are collisions fairly often. Bad enough in a car or truck. Can't imagine hitting one while on a bike ....
