Electronic Lift

Hey folks

Hope this finds everybody well.
I was wondering does anyone know if the electronic lift on the new C8 has a setting where you can leave it at the approximately 2 in lift level?
Cheers,
Kevin
I'm assuming this is when you want to drive across the pasture chasing horses Kev. lol.... It has a manual switch to raise the nose as well as the 1000 programmable GPS settings to raise it automatically for known hazards but don't know if it's good for the hydraulics to leave it raised all the time or not. Guess a dealer might be able to answer that... in 5 years or so..lmao. Sorry... not much help...

Hahahaha Good one RD..was wondering as was just thinking when driving on roads with multiple speed-bumps as then it would not be lifting then lowering then 200m down the road be lifting again...also does anyone know how we will program in the lift gps spots while we are driving?

Cheers,
Kevin
While I can't answer the first part, for the second part I remember in a demo video, after you have lifted and lowered the nose, the car then asks if you want it to be a saved location.

Thanks Vette-swami EJ always great to read your knowledge on the C8.

Yes I was thinking of potholes as well, as roads here are all over the place with quality....I think the GPS storage is a super idea....I just wonder about how the system will react once going over a speedbump them in 5 seconds another one comes up. I know of a few roads here where there are about 5 bumps in 1.5 kms....ridiculous city measures.

Another thought here....do we have to stop in traffic to store the locations in the gps? If so I guess we will be pissing of lots of other fellow drivers during our initial setup for the lift hahahaha

Cheers,
Kevin

Works up to roughly (pun intended) 40 kms an hour so no need to stop. If lifted manually it stays lifted until you hit the button again.

I don't have a real answer for you here but my current vehicle's lift system will automatically lower back down to the default height after the vehicle hits a certain speed. I would think the C8 would be the same as they don't want the handling to be altered.

It's my understanding that the GPS saved spots will auto raise while driving, the faster you are driving the farther away it will react up to a certain speed, of course.

I remember a few videos where the GM rep mentioned the lift can only be activated while travelling under a certain speed. I'd assume that probably means it deactivates as well above that same speed. Plus...seeing @ampm 's response above about the C7's lift probably adds more validity to this guess :)
