Question Disabling the automatic daytime driving lighs.

Hey folks! First time posting. I have a 2001 C5, I'm trying to disable the night time sentinel option.
I tried pulling fuse 2 from the fuse panel under the hood but it doesn't seem to work.
I found an older post from 2004, the OP said he pulled relay 38 snd 40 from the fuse panel on the passenger side and also installed jumper cables in each of the slots where the relays were initially. He had originaly included pics but those pictures are no longer visible in that tread.

I'm wondering if any of the members have tried this? Or if any of you have had success using other methods? Any help would be appreciated.

I’m not really well versed in this stuff. I have a 2000 C5. I vaguely remember options settings for that type of thing with the gauges button I think
if you haven’t tried that yet.
I pulled a fuse to disable my headlights from going up and down every time to avoid overuse as guys said they could wear out easily.

Yes I tried disabling it through the DIC but because it's a Canadian car thar won't work.
I also tried pulling fuse 2 from under the hood and for me this did not work either.
Which fuse did you pull out?

It's # 44 under the passenger floor mat. You can search the forums. We have been around this block a few times. This will disable the Twilight Sentinel so your headlights don't come up every time you go in the garage. The title for this post says automatic daytime running lights?? But you seem to be asking about Twilight Sentinel. Then you will have to turn your lights on when it gets dark like the good old days.

And as per Cdn regulations, daytime running lights are mandatory. So that is why the Cdn car has them but not a US car. You could possibly get stopped on the road if they are not working.. Small chance but possible.
Saw one last year where the guy had changed over to LEDs and the casings were positioned at approx. half open as the lights are rectangular and smaller. Looked quite nice actually.

Yeah, the Twilight Sentinel feature on the 2001 can definitely be a bit stubborn if you're trying to disable it completely. Pulling fuse 2 under the hood won't do it, since that's usually tied to something else (like DRLs or parking lights), not the automatic headlight control.

You're right, the relay method works but can be tricky if you're not precise. That manual bypass module sounds like a cleaner solution—I'll definitely check out CorvetteForum for more info.
