Deer in the headlights

Going back to that phrase,,,,,I never know what I’ll see in the run of a workday.

This morning just off Parkdale Blvd/Memorial Drive in Montgomery I came across this group. Not uncommon in this part of town.

Vermin. Lost two vehicles to deer. As hunting pressures have decreased, their numbers are exploding. Driving after dark out here in the rural areas is Russian roulette. Not if but when....rant over.

Moose. Those concern me when out and about at night.

Totally agree Murray. Deer wreck cars...Moose wreck the people too.... But they do taste good...

My son was hit by a deer while he was driving several years ago. Made a mess of his car and the deer was dead. Insurance had no problem fixing everything under his comprehensive coverage.

Need more deer here! Send them over so it gives us something to hunt. However, that would be nice being in Calgary as it would be convenient not having to leave the city to go get a deer in the Fall.

I hate deer.
One of them attacked a Pontiac Gran Am GT I had. Ran into front fender, rolled off hood, smashed windshield, then rolled off roof. Almost wrote off car.
Another attacked and almost killed my dog.
If you're in Calgary another bad place is 14 St below Nose Hill.

Or Elk. I’ve seen a few of those that are massive.

My son hit a kangaroo with his rental car while driving in Australia & luckily avoided it from hoping through the windshield as it tried to hurdle the car.It did quite a bit of damage though.

Yeah I can vouch for that. Living in Charleswood which is just down the hill from the 19st NW Nose Hill entrance,I see them in the soccer field out front quite often. Coyotes make their way here a lot as well.

Coming home from Brandon in '59, the old boy hit a deer in the Studebaker. I was 4, having a swig of 7up when we hit it. I haven't had 7up since.
Car made it home..... I remember a lot of steam.
