Current BG production estimate

What does the VIN tell you? I am honestly curious because I don't know beyond general information about where the car is made, year, plant, and some descriptors about the content of the car.
We can tell when it will be built as well as ...

To summarize.
So 1G1Y72D43L5101153 First four are always the same.
1st is Country of Origin: 1 = USA
2nd is Manufacturer: G = GM
3rd is Make of car: 1 = Chevrolet
4th is Car Line or Series: Y = Y-body series (Corvette)
5th is 6 = 1LT, 7 = 2LT, 8=3LT
6th is 2 = coupe, 3 = HTC (Vert)
7th is always D (restraint system)
8th is engine type 4 = LT2
9th is the Check Digit. Use the Check Digit Calculator
10th is model year L = 2020 M = 2021
11th is 5 = Bowling Green
12th is 1 = customer, 0 = CTF
The rest is partial vin. (sequential)

Thanks!

50 more to go and we'll be done MY2020 👍
19,221 > 19,406 = 186

Murray, I have been following this site and the build updates along the way. And you give good news and updates. For that. Thank you. Impressed the BG persevered on buckled down and have almost attained their goal.

Should be built this Thursday if my math is correct. :)
Murray, so that means it should be the 670th 2021 C8 built?

Yes, but the only thing that will interfere with that is someone who buys a vin. Not sure how that works. The cars have sequence number that doesn't necessarily line up with the vin.

Hey Murray, Conti made a comment in his recent video that Bowling Green maybe scaling back to one shift in January. Suppliers not able to keep up with two shifts.
Have you any intel on this ? We knew this might happen in various forms of delay, this might just be the start.

I heard he said that. I've also heard that his info is always questionable. We've seen no reason for this to be true. If that was so, then why would they be paying triple time to have them work 21st to the 23rd? It doesn't make any sense.

Yup your logic is sound.
I think we may all be a little paranoid after last years rollercoaster ride, while waiting for our cars to be produced ASAP.

Murray, if employees will be paid triple time those days, my TPW is right there, does it mean that my car is a much better deal than many of you guys, they actually cost more to build... ;-)
