Complete DTC Oil and Filter, Pan Gasket Change?

BS to the dealership. You don't need to remove the pan/bolts/gasket.

Remove the canister filter housing/cover and replace the gasket if you choose or damaged. View attachment 1402942 filler ports one is on the driver side wheel well area and the other one is below or behind the air filter housing area. I will be using the wheel well one when I do my own first fluid change soon.

The X is the cover for the filter. The drain plug. The filler is further up with socket pipe plug. Once you drop your under tray/shear plate, you will see all of this. I made my own window so that I don't need to unbolts the under tray.

You guys are the best. :-} Thank You.

I’m actually going to have to watch a YouTube video on replacing the transmission fluid. What’s all involved. I just called my dealer and they just told me that the internal filter is only $183.
I explained to her yes but it’s the labour having to remove the exhaust. Remove the bolts pan gasket that cost so much money. She said that that all still has to be removed when you’re changing the tranny oil. So you’re only really saving $183.
You had better find another dealer . You do NOT have to remove the exhaust to change the TX fluid . You may have to remove the rear tire though. But I suppose if you really want to you could remove your exhaust when you do the service.......

No the dealer called me back. No need to replace the internal filter. This saves a lot of money.
Now all they do is remove bottom body belly pan. Remove tranny drain plug and let it drain. Replace drain plug. Remove exterior tranny filter and replace with new one. Add 10L oil. Reset tranny oil %
$1,033 plus HST.

There is more to the procedure than meets the eye of the casual observer. Now apparently the circulating of the TX fluid and solenoid-activation can be ALMOST accomplished adequately driving the vehicle fairly aggressively at full operating temperature for a period of , if I recall correctly, for about 15 minutes immediately prior to the drain and fill procedure but it is recommended to go by DCT-47 . What DTC‑47 actually is....
DTC‑47 is the GM internal service‑spec code for the C8‑DCT transmission oil and filter replacement procedure, including when and how the solenoids are activated, the required fluid volume, and the special lift‑and‑run‑routine GM dealers use.
GM’s position is that the service should be done on a lift with the car running, using their specific fluid and solenoid‑activation sequence, which is why many shops and enthusiasts recommend letting the dealer do it under warranty.
How to actually see or use DTC‑47-
Dealerships / GM Tech‑2 / GM‑SPO: Technicians pull the DTC‑47 spec sheet via GM’s service portal (e.g., Tech‑Line Connect or successor) using the vehicle’s VIN and service‑code lookup; that’s the only official way to read the full spec sheet.
Third‑party shops: Some GM‑certified independent shops can access the spec if they have a GM‑authorized subscription; they may let you sit with the technician and watch the printed steps, but they cannot legally distribute the PDF.

For the record, you are not required to replace the external DCT canister filter at the 3 year service mark for a 2023 model. Only the fluid needs changing. You can verify this in your owners manual. You are required to change the canister filter for the first time at 12000km.
In your case, you have already replaced the filter and you will have to do it again at 12k km. Just change the fluid for now, that is what I did on my 2023 with 9k km. And stay away from the internal filter, changing it is a waste and another possible source for a leak to develop. Just my 2 cents...

I don't believe the internal filter ever has to be replaced. Just cleaned at the required interval .

And yes , they make the owners manual available for a reason, lol.

I read my owners manual entirely the day I took delivery of my car. Did I memorize it all? Not likely, but I know whats in there when I need to double check something. to many, the owners manual like purchasing a shelving unit from Ikea." I don't need no stinkin' assembly directions" lol....
