Hello All.
2023 C8. I only have 8,000KM on the car. Both complimentary oil changes have been done. The complimentary transmission exterior filter and tranny oil top up have been completed last year. Just had my third oil charge completed and paid for.
My question is i have read that it is mandatory now to do the COMPLETE DTC oil / internal filters / pan gasket within 3years or 72,000km which ever come first. Why my dealer has not told me puzzles me. No big deal as I have time.
What are your dealers charging for this service in Northern Ontario, ( Huntsville - Bradford ) area? Who do you recommend has the best pricing and work quality? Can you go to a non Chevy dealer for this service and not have your warranty void.

From what I have read on the forums and my letter from GM is that only the fluid needs to be changed at 3 years regardless of mileage.

I would change the external filter again at that time. I have had the free filter change last year at 12.000 kms.

A friend just had his 3 year service done awhile ago,,,,Filter and fluid for around $1400 in Victoria,

I think @1st Vette was quoted 1700 from a NWT dealer
Actually that was what Northgate GM tried to charge me the day before yesterday for the included 12,000 k included external filter service. I straightened them out though. Don't get me started.......

I know, but that was his question. What was the cost for older cars.

I was just pointing out that was in Edmonton not the NWT . Around May 4 2024 GM extended the window from 2 years to 3 for 2022 to 2024 models. The quotes I have seen others post range from about $800 to $ 1200 if out of the 3 year window.

No my question is not the free external filter and tranny top up. My question is for the 3 year, 72K which ever comes Fort full tranny service price
Not sure about the required full fluid change one but I suspect it won't be cheap because of the cost of the TX fluid which apparently is quite high. I'm sure a call to your dealer would tell you. I believe they also remove and clean the internal filter and likely change the external filter as well.

$1,530 plus HST full 3 year / 72KM tranny 12L oil / inner , outer filter / pan gasket and labour. Apparently they have to purchase new pan bolts too. You cannot reuse the old pan bolts.

Thanks , as I had been wondering. Not as painful as I thought. Can you bring your own bolts?..........

Thanks for sharing with everyone- mine will hit 3 years in July to get it done as well

Might I suggest you all listen to Corvette Today #316 starting around the 8 minute mark. Interview with Josh Holder, Corvette Chief Engineer where he says,"Do not let the dealer talk you into changing the INTERNAL filter on the C8 transmission at the 3 year service". The only filter that needs changing is the external fine particle DCT filter. The internal is a mesh for large particles.

Never heard of this before. Thank you for the share. Is there a service bulletin I can reference from GM o forward to my service department stating that the internal filter is a lifetime filter not to be changed?
I’m Google searching it, but I can’t find it, but I do see where people are saying it’s not necessary to change. People are getting the exterior one confused with the interior one.

I’m actually going to have to watch a YouTube video on replacing the transmission fluid. What’s all involved. I just called my dealer and they just told me that the internal filter is only $183.
I explained to her yes but it’s the labour having to remove the exhaust. Remove the bolts pan gasket that cost so much money. She said that that all still has to be removed when you’re changing the tranny oil. So you’re only really saving $183.

BS to the dealership. You don't need to remove the pan/bolts/gasket.

Remove the canister filter housing/cover and replace the gasket if you choose or damaged.

2 filler ports one is on the driver side wheel well area and the other one is below or behind the air filter housing area. I will be using the wheel well one when I do my own first fluid change soon.

The X is the cover for the filter. The drain plug. The filler is further up with socket pipe plug. Once you drop your under tray/shear plate, you will see all of this. I made my own window so that I don't need to unbolts the under tray.
