You are correct Don. 2000 mph plus. Almost as fast as your Corvette...

Way more. Mach 5 corrected for altitude and temp would put it closer to 3000 nautical miles per hour groundspeed. Interesting is that at operating altitude it’s true airspeed would likely be closer 200 knots. There are stories of the SR71 outrunning Russian SAM’s which operated at around Mach 5.

FYI it didn’t come in yellow. Which is widely thought to be the fastest colour. Not proven however.
