Not a warbird per se but as fast as a lot of them . Not having advanced

computerized control systems most functions were monitored and controlled by the flight engineer manually. You would need a darn good memory to remember everything on these control panels. Very impressive to say the least. I saw the Concord take off and land a couple of times and it was smaller than I expected. Top speed a bit over Mach 2 !
 
A C-47 missing a large portion of its port wing after colliding with a Lockheed Ventura over New Zealand in March 1945. The pilot managed to successfully land this aircraft despite the damage. Sadly, the Ventura pilot was killed after his aircraft crashed.

Cheap not it is. Its a shame we can't find better uses for the billions ( or even a small portion of the billions) we spend on "defense".
Better uses are a dime a dozen. Unfortunately we "need" defense because some overlords would just like to run over the defenseless.
We haven't made it to the United Federation of Planets - yet.
