Hi everyone...... Here are some videos from the mountain drive yesterday. For those in Alberta who never made it --- you missed a great day and a great drive..... keep any cruises planned next year in mind to attend!

I made one special video last night.

So hopefully this wets everyone's appetite for a 2 or 3 day organized cruise next year through the mountains. A group travelling through hwy 11, then down to Revelstoke and around to Nelson then back into alberta would be a great, scenic drive.

Thanks Brian your videos bring this in perspective of why I'm so thankful we live close the the Rockies. After the September long this road is actually very quiet too.

Yes, it is quiet...... I can fly over the highway and not get hit.... haha.

Maybe Riley will come from Sask for 1 or two cruises next year......

Maybe I will be driving a new C7 Z06 ---- not haha.... would be nice though....

If I can't sell my ZR1 by next June then maybe I will just say F'k it and drive it......

Damn, I hit 30,000 km on my escape yesterday.. :( kidding... don't care for that one and mileage.

I was in a t shirt and weather was nice.....

Next year I will have an 80" wide plane that could follow us for 10-30 min through the mountains videoing us...... I can strap it too the roof of the ZR1


Going for a 2 day one with going through Golden and south to Fairmont or where ever would be neat..... but we have to check out Morriane Lake..... still never have been there.

Wow, Brian -- awesome videos.......and absolutely spectacular scenery. So jealous of you guys having that in your back yards. Just WOW!

I had a taste of the Rockies last summer with Steamer and can't wait to see more of it....Great cruise. Wish I were closer, I'd definitely be in on one of those.

Hero 3+ black on the drone. ND .4 filter ...the gimbal has a gyro to keep it level .. but it does need a software update.. and it has absorption dampeners to keep the video smooth while flying.

I just handheld point and shoot for the driving ones - I could have used another Hero 3+ black in car but spent the night before getting my drone ready...... not enough free time.

Next year will be set up even better - ALL Albertans should attend next years cruises..... even if i sell my ZR1 - can come be the video crew... as it was nice just to get out in the mountains and get some fresh air!
 
Brian, please be careful when you are flying your drone and also where you are flying it. I was coming in to land at my home airport last week and some idiot was out flying his drone in very close proximity to the final approach runway and I almost hit it as he flew it right in front of my airplane! It missed me buy no more than 50 feet and it would have caused me some serious problems had it struck my plane. I only mention this because there seems to be more and more of these things flying around and most of the people flying them have no regard or consideration for what else may be going on around them. I am not saying that you are guilty of any of the above but just asking everyone to please be mindful of any aircraft in the area whenever/wherever you are flying. Many thx. for the pics. by the way, they look great and as I am from Vancouver originally, it brings back some great memories.

Yup, I will be a smart flyer. kids want to come near and I say get back a bunch ( nicely )

Sucks that people will fly stupidly, affects our hobby.
