Car theft and carjackings

There are a few that would do the job.
Yeah. I'll have to pull the waterfall fuse cover tomorrow and see what's what.
After the wash. Drove up to Grand Bend this afternoon, and embossed the nose with more than a few bugs.
Swarming little buggers, black, tiny, probably some sort of midge.

My OM says it may have an "Inclination Sensor" that will set off the alarm, if someone tried to winch it onto a flatbed tow truck. Page 23 PDF OM.
Ya , I noticed that. I’m not really going to be too concerned partly because when I am here there is only one road heading south so it wouldn’t take Highway Patrol long to find it .

I wouldn't. The battery is a pita to get to, just like my Sprinter.
I bet I could install it faster than grill guards . And you only have to do it once then you just use the remote control. The battery isn’t that hard to get at going by the videos I have seen.

Are you old? People always determine the degree of difficulty of any particular task based on their personal ability.
It's normal, but doesn't apply universally.
One size rarely fits all...

Depends on what you consider old. I seldom give it much thought. You should get some idea from my profile picture, lol .

Would immobilizing the battery with a shut off relay not disarm the alarm system?
I think this relay should be installed on the starter. No starting engine. No shifting car into gear. No having to reset all your cars radio presets.

Age is just a state of mind and and I would venture to guess that most if not all Corvette owners on here are in their mid 20s especially when behind the wheel ... I'm barely a few days over 16 ... but thats another story ;)

Would there be any computer re-learning issues with the power being completely disconnected?
That thought struck me later . When I sobered up, lol .You wouldn’t think it would take too long to
“ reboot “ as it were . Someone on here must have had the battery replaced or disconnected for some reason who may have some input. I’m just trying to figure out a relatively easy way to make a potential theft more difficult. You make a valid point.

Yup ... had my batt terminals removed many times example when I changed my rotors and pads ... no problem ... just like a regular car ... it even remembers your radio stations .... only thing I had to do when I started the car up again is operate the driver and passenger windows up and down

The car actually prompts you to do that

Good points for sure. As I said to @1500cc I am still trying to sort it out and I like the starter disconnect suggestion. Might be a bit trickier than the battery but certainly should work.

Yea I think it has something to do with the fact that whenever you open the driver or pass door with the windows up the window slightly moves down and when you climb in and close the door it tightens up again ... im guessing for the top clearance ... thats on the coupe ...dont know if its the same for the HTC

I did see in the OM that the windows have to relearn the program when the battery has died. Page 30 . If that’s the only issue with battery disconnection then not a huge deal. The slight movement when you open and close the door they call “ indexing “ . Probably because of pressurization perhaps similar to not closing the door with the window up after a windshield replacement until the sealant has dried.
