C8 traded in with 500kms

I like the R8; but, no room anywhere - eg. golf clubs - LOL.

I agree with SebringC8 about the R8 NOT being boring to drive but aside from the lack of storage space mentioned by JCWP, I find the R8 to be too LOUD since the glass rear window does little to shield the noise of the engine. I know others will enjoy that so as always, it's a matter of preference. Perhaps I'm old fashioned but I like a cabin that's conducive to music and talk with your passenger. Having said that, it's been years since my R8 drives so maybe things have changed in the cabin noise department but I still see its massive engine sitting behind a small glass wall...

What he meant was no room for the wife. ;)
I was just told by a friend that when I order my 2022 C8 in September - apparently the date? I will not get it until the fall of 2022? Any dealers here, please advise because this sounds too strange to be true. Almost a year from when I place the order??

Yes, it's pretty much correct. You can always call the dealership around you to give you an approximate. Some dealership that add a markup will have shorter list... but it's up to you if you want to go this route. If you have decided, you should give your deposit now and not wait for September.

He actually traded both the C8 as well as a new Supra for a 2022 R8. I must disagree with you though on the R8. I drive several R8’s per week and the word boring has never come to mind. Just the sound alone of the V10 is ten times more exciting than my C8.
Ok, maybe I’ll put things in context, I like to be able to get a nice rear end drift on corner exit, the R8 is set up to understeer at the limit (depending on model) rather than the light oversteer of the Lamborghini version. The R8 does not feel particularly exciting unless you are at very excessive speeds, whereas I am suprprised at how fun and engaging the C8 is at “reasonable” speeds. This is also why I say boring, I.e. on public roads.
I know many have complained about our C8s understeering ( and you can induce it if you want to for YouTube videos) but it also has a wonderful, controllable throttle on oversteer....

This my friends are only my observations and opinions. Just 1 guy.......
If we all liked the same things.........

They have had my deposit for many months and I am scheduled to order as soon as the new 2022 order sheet is available - apparently July? The info I articulated was from another dealer. I think most dealers here in the GVRD charge MSRP; on the island, $10 to $15K more. I deal with Carters and it is company policy to not up charge. I hope you are driving your car a lot? What options did you order?

That's great company policy. If you are at the top of the list and they have an allocation for you, then it will be much faster. My c8 as not arrived at the dealer yet even do it was built on May 19th.... should arrive next week if all goes well. I took torch red coupe 2lt with z51, Magnetic ride, front lift, red brake caliper and red interior.

If you are number one at almost any Corvette dealer you will get an allocation in the first quarter of MY2022. A Corvette dealer is a dealer who had past Corvette sales. I believe almost all Corvette dealers get 3 allocations minimum per year. If you are at a a minimum dealer it could easily take almost a year to take delivery. In BC there aren't large volume dealers, but there might be a few that get 30 to 50 per year.
Some dealers will place all their orders right away and some wait until they actually get an allocation before placing the order. Placing an order in Workbench means nothing except that GM can see if there is an order. No guarantee of anything. Your dealer MUST have past Corvette sales to have their order accepted by GM and even then only by the amount of past sales. IMHO it's vital to know the dealers past Corvette sales and where you are on their list.

Sounds awesome man. Pics when it arrives - congrats!!!!:Cheers2:

It’s at Audi Midtown Toronto but as usual the sales department has ignored all my requests for info.

You’d think they wouldn’t ignore the Body Shop Manager but hey I’m just a nobody from Service. Lol
A friend of mine worked in service at an Acura dealer, same thing, sales always ignored service. Wait until they need a favor to make a sale and then you ignore them.
