Went to Body Shop: would be very expensive because have to take panels off to get the piece off and would not trust the people working there to do the job. Not sure how they would get the piece off to repaint ?
Ya, go somewhere else. No reason to take the piece off!

Went to another body shop to-day - same story - very expensive. Recommended LORCO as they mix it for you: just need paint code - WA three digits- WA427F - so, inside door jam you will get the three digits with the F after it. Because my color is a tricolor - red mist metallic there is quite the process to do touch ups: base coat, curing coat, another coat with a final one. In any case I will simplify the process. What a pain in the ?

JWCP, not to add insult to injury.

Did you have PPF on the lower rockers??

Did you try contacting you dealership (depending on you trust level of said dealership) to see if they have or could recommend a body shop that they would use to repair Corvettes.
Yes. They suggested I do the tough up thing? No PPF just ceramic coated. Not a mark on my car anywhere except that which we are talking about.

A proper Red Mist touch up needs 3 separate spray cans. I researched it when I had road rash on my coupe roof. Long story.
The 3 cans were available from a paint supplier in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, last year for $80 CAD. Apparently, the metallic portion is VERY expensive. Hence the high option price.
