Encouraging.
The 10 least stolen vehicles in Canada, based on recent insurance and crime data, are primarily models known for advanced security features, lower resale value on the black market, or unique characteristics that make them less desirable to thieves.Least Stolen Vehicles ListAccording to data from 2023–2024, the following vehicles had the lowest reported thefts in Canada:Chevrolet Volt (1 theft)Kia Niro (3 thefts)Cadillac XT5 (4 thefts)Buick Envision (4 thefts)Mini Cooper Countryman (4 thefts)Volvo XC90 (5 thefts)Volkswagen Beetle (6 thefts)Chevrolet Corvette (6 thefts)Hyundai Ioniq (7 thefts)Mazda2 (8 thefts)

Was that all MY's?

Is anyone insured with CCA. I heard they are surcharging the C8 $1500.00 for theft unless you get an immobilizer.
No immobilizer required in the two years I have been with them.
Paying the same as last year.

My F150 went up through as I think it was eight on the list on most stolen.

Yes and I dropped them because of it. The only big rate reducing option was for the expensive immobilizer CAA accept, is to cut into the factory wiring. There are better ways but someone "sold" them on this exclusive solution. I went with another co who was reasonable and gave a $500/year discount it I installed the TAG system which doesn't cut any wiring and cost $300 for 5 years. I was with CAA for years before that and once I got into $100k plus they required an Immobilizer due to higher theft rate.

I assume that theft rates are high in your area ? You should send the CAA the stats showing the C8 as #6 on the list of LEAST stolen vehicles , for all areas .

None stolen in my area. I live in rural Ontario. Can't argue with insurance co. you would be wasting your time.
If don't mind me asking what rate did they give you for your coverage? Seems to be a wide variation in rates for similar coverage all across the country. Even within the same city sometimes depending on your address.

CAA sent me a letter stating my then current policy would get a $1500 theft surcharge. When the renewal came in they more than doubled the premium to over $2000 and added $1500 theft surcharge which I could eliminate if I installed a $1500 immobilizer. I had big deductibles also - $5000? BTW perfect driving record no claims.

I sat down with CAA last year and discussed my insurance on 5 vehicles, my enclosed trailer, my 12 foot open trailer, my Winnebago RV, my ATV, my skid steer and my total farm insurance policy. They wouldn't even come close to my existing Wawanesa policy rate. I also have a clean drivers record with no claims. And I've been a CAA member for almost 30 years.

I just got my renewal notice yesterday. For my 24 C8 and a 2008 Tundra. The total now is $1638 up from $1322 last year. All of that increased amount is because of the C8 . So much for being the 6th least stolen vehicle not to mention that overall vehicle thefts are down significantly.

I got the similar rate through CAA with $5k deductible. No surcharge. I do have a Tag on my old car. I had installed on my new one as well.
