I’m new as well. Having owned different “spirited” cars and many different brands - I like the price point, styling and handling. The jury is still out on the machine as time and miles get put on but for now with only 2000km on mine - super fun and impressed! Deposit has been put down for the Z06!

Nobody has mentioned the Supra as an option or a back up. I test drove one and thought it was nice but lacking in a general feel of driving something special. Perhaps a manual gearbox may have made it more interesting. 2020s can be had for about $10,000 off, but that still wouldn’t sway me.

Interesting that they compared the Corvette to the 911. I would have thought the 718 since the price would be similar when similarly equipped (at least closer that the 911). In fact, I did consider the 718 for a short time, but opted for the Corvette in the end.
I did the same thing when I bought my C7. Flirted with the Porsche Cayman S, but couldn't get over the price difference. Especially when I found one used in excellent shape and low mileage. Also, they switched to the Turbo 4 instead of the naturally aspirated 6.

Supra 3.0 or 4cyl cayman in my opinion is not on the same level with C8.

I agree. The C8 is the first car I have ever bought without ever having sat in it, let alone taking a test drive. I was a bit apprehensive about putting down so much money but have absolutely no regrets.

Kinda crazy how many new customers to the Corvette!!!
Probably many more who didn’t stumble upon this forum like I did. I can believe that the majority of C8 buyers are new to Corvette. Heck, before this car the only other North American cars my wife and I ever owned were a Cavalier and a Ford Escort when we first started working. Otherwise, every other vehicle has been either German or Japanese (and one from Sweden).

Always thought I'd be buried in my Camaro. Then it happened .... An affordable mid engine (Dare I say) Super car! Only took 2 weeks. Deposit was down and one Camaro was sold! lol And the rest, as they say, was history!

Same for me, when I saw the C8, my jaws dropped and my love affair with my Camaro was gone. I sold my Camaro and now on the waiting game for a 2021.

This is my first Corvette and actually the first GM car I've ever owned.
Drove some GM cars back in the 80's as company cars, Chev Celebrity and Olds Calais, however they didn't exactly make me a GM fan.
The C8 is a different story, I love it even though I only had a tease of driving it before the winter hit.
Most recent car before the C8 was a Jaguar F-Type.

I don't know the attraction to the Supra. Styling does nothing for me. At all...

I am a dedicated GM guy with many other of their brands in our driveway over the years. This is my fist vette. I have appreciated all of the model years but this one for sure was the time to pull the trigger. May be my one and done. Not sure I will every get tired of driving this baby and I certainly don't need a Z06 or more. This has enough horses for me.
