c7 navigation

There was a thread started back in March on an upgrade. Not sure if there's any info in there that might interest you. Here's the thread link.

went to the local dealer and they said there was no way for them to install a nav system , not available to the dealer

We do it for $1,399 on a new vehicle. Maybe it doesn't work on a 14-15, but that doesn't make sense. I'll have to check on Monday.

Wasn't really looking for alternatives just info on the aftermarket nav system. I do have a Garmin on my F800gs though.

I get what you are saying. Keeping the cockpit clean and taking advantage of a system that looks built-in and perhaps OEM. The link in @Rruuff Day comment above is to a company I found in the USA that you can phone. I found real people there who were very helpful. It was a matter of saving the $$$ to purchase one for me. Before making this decision, there was installation information to look through, I watched the guide for the Corvette installation along with the info for my 2015 GMC Sierra that I was shopping for. I was looking for the latest in Nav along with Car Play so check out that link above. There are other aftermarket systems out there as I know a friend who recently took on an upgrade of his Corvette on his own - definitely not a task for an amateur like me. The Company in the link above sent me an invoice by email that I only needed to press a link to pay and everything was set up for delivery. They even had an installer recommendation for me near Calgary.

I did not follow through with this though as I had to trade my truck in this past summer. Something unexpected and covered under the 5yr powertrain warranty but my choice was to replace the truck versus an 8 week repair (strike and parts)

I upgraded my 2014 / 3LT HD radio and HMI modules to to a 2016+ Reason being is I wanted Apple CarPlay.

It would be a pretty simple upgrade for you to do if you just wanted NAV. The GM dealership probably said it’s not possible because there was never a kit offered post-production. I have the HD radio module / HMI module / USB port still if you’re interested in adding just NAV to your car. The only other part you’d need would be the antenna which is pretty cheap and to have the modules programmed. That can be done at any dealership. There’s also a couple shops in the US where you could send the modules to be programmed with your VIN if you want to avoid the dealership entirely.
