C7 hold on to value real well

JMO Derek but I'm betting there will be a significant cross section of population that, C8 mid engine or not, will still prefer the front engine / RWD. It may take a while, but when they realize it's gone forever, they will want it even more.

You may be right which is good news all around.

My 2 cents worth...... the introduction of the new C8 Corvette model will certainly take away some potential buyers who were/are considering a C7. However, It should also hold true that the yet unknown C8 purchase price will sway individuals one way or another .... lets assume for discussion pricing on the C8 low end at $118,000 + here in BC a 15% tax - that would equate to $135,700. Also, how much of a splash and or exclusivity will GM try to create and will the market react. Pricing for the new Vette will dictate how many individuals that may be holding out for the arrival, then have a bit of sticker shock will girate back to a C7. Corvettes, imo are good value for the price, but we all know they are still a depreciating 'asset'. I bought my C7 G.S. with Z07 package etc at year end. It took 3 days to work out a deal and I feel comfortable that at least the first year of depreciation has been fully absorbed... not by me. At the end of the day, we buy them for our own reasons and I guess thats all that really matters...... :)

I was looking at new this spring and the dealer had a 2017 msrp 87,000 on for 70,000. It was a coupe and for me that was a deal breaker..I am only interested in a vert. The 2015 that was traded in on it had only 14,000 km on it and they were asking 65,900 and it was everything I wanted but they wanted too much difference and it went in a week.. It sure would be nice to know what it sold for....

We always get killed when trading in our cars. Sometime though when the dealer has a lot of inventory they have super deals - off MSRP - usually fall. Duecks here in Van. has tons of inventory and they had some great deals last fall and this spring; especially verts because the weather had turned - so, maybe this fall you will get an opportunity? Good LucK!!!!
