C3 1976 Starting issues

I'm having trouble starting my corvette - battery is fine, but it won't turn over and there isn't even a click. I'm a big newbie with auto mechanical issues, but eager to learn. Someone suggested it might be the solenoid - is this something I can verify?

first thing to check are all the cables and connections going to the starter and solenoid. the solenoid is mounted on top of the starter. also check the ground cable to the engine block.

I second checking the wires. Especially the ground. May have build up between the connector and block. Just ask me how I know.

Thanks guys... sorry I haven't gotten back here in a while, nor had time to work on my baby... maybe this weekend.
