Question C1 ignition question? Any help will be appreciated.

"What are some common issues with the points-based ignition system in the C1 Corvette (1953-1962), and how can they be diagnosed and repaired?"
Another option if you aren’t totally concerned about originality. For a C1 Corvette electronic ignition conversion, consider the PerTronix Ignitor system, which allows you to retain your original distributor. This solid-state system installs easily under the distributor cap without complex wiring and costs under $100. Installation typically takes about an hour and requires basic tools. The system operates effectively from 0 to 6000 RPM with a standard coil, and can be upgraded for higher RPMs by switching coils. Other options include various HEI setups and aftermarket kits available from suppliers like Eckler’s and Zip Corvette.

That, to me, is the one thing I definitely would do regardless of originality. Did that with my 71 Duster 340 and solved a ton of the pain

There are really no issues with staying with points and condenser from days past. Other than having a tach/ dwell meter and a timing light.
And knowing how to set your engine up. It's a simple system.
As mentioned above... the Pertronix system is very popular and works well !!
Make sure your distributor is in good shape to begin with. Check your distributor bushings and weights under the rotor which ever way you go.

Good luck.
