Evening All,

Brand new member here so hopefully I'm posting in the right place. Apologies in advance if i didn't.

I think I'm in the market for a sports car and narrowed it down to the Corvette. I'm wondering if now is a good time to buy given the 0% finance deals. From what i read online the must have option is the Magni-ride suspension? I see the local Calgary dealerships here have a 1LT w/ magni-ride, performance exhaust, splitters and protection package. MSRP is ~$98k and advertised for $93k. what is the average discount i should be expecting and should i wait until end of year for better deals?

Hi and welcome to the forum. A 5K discount on a 1LT allows the dealership to make a little money on the car still. Cost on that car is a little under 90K.
If you look at a 2LT which I just had another new member DM me saying he wish he had bought instead of a 1LT 2025, you could be looking at very close to a 10K discount depending on how the car is equipped.

Ya, i noticed that too - the higher the package, the higher the discounts. any reason for that? you think now is a good time to pull the trigger vs end of year? i have the cash kicking around so i technically dont need financing. however given 0% for 60 months (assuming 5%) is about $12k in financing costs saved, not to mention the opportunity cost of the 90k.

Welcome to the forum!
I personally believe a 2LT is a valuable package add. Spending that kind of money on a car and not getting it's full value is a shame. Others disagree, but I took the 2LT over a Z51. Mag-ride wasn't available for me and for a daily driver I don't miss it at all. It's still one heck of a nice sports car.

The reason for that is margin. Each option that is ordered on the car offers more profit to the dealer so the spread of cost vs retail gets larger.
The 0% allows you to not interrupt the money. The additional discount that a dealer would offer once the season ends you could make up right now by offering them 2K less now and get to drive the car for a bit. They are paying 5.5-6.5% to carry those cars over the winter so best to move them now and earn future 2026 allocations for next season.

I picked up my 2025 first week of June, 3LT Z51 package.
Got $9k off…. The dealer wouldn’t do it…. So I walked out…. Then the GM who I knew called me back and said let’s do the deal….. oh and yeah I got $50K for my 2015 C7 with 60k km on it for the trade…. They complained about that too…. Told them I wasn’t interested….. guess what…. I got my C8 three days later

Happy happy happy….

Bonus…. My throttle controller just crossed the boarder …. So I’m thinking another couple of days for it to arrive at my door…. Then install it and let ‘er rip!!!’

😎

Mag ride .... to protect your tush ....

When I ordered my C8 .... I never even considered mag ride ....

I have the Z51 package and yea the ride is tight .... however thats the main reason I bought the car ... and its a thrill to drive

The ride is actually better than some Ferraris I have been in ....

If I wanted a soft ride I would have bought ...... something soft ( fill in the civilian car of choice )

But to each their own .... enjoy and I hope you get exactly what you want at a great deal !

Zero percent is a good deal. However, if you can get more like $10k off and you pay the car off sooner-you are further ahead.

We bought our Eray in May and got $20k off. I did the math and the interest on my line of credit was around $600 per month.
So we took the $20 k off and the car is all but paid off already.

The deals will get better the closer you get to winter.

My $.02

Right now the deals are better for buyers where new buyers can get discounts and the financing offer. Alberta is getting close to the end of the season so dealers will be more motivated very soon.

I'd get a 2LT for a decent interior, and a few extras that are nice to have. I got the Z51 package to make it a true sports car (awesome cornering) and the mag suspension...which you can adjust to touring when you're just driving down a boring stretch of highway, and then when you get some curves, go to sport or track and have fun! The way I see it, you're spending over a $100K, so a nice interior, the handling Z51 package that makes it a sports car, and the mag ride suspension so you can adjust from comfy to rock n roll were just mandatory. I mulled over getting a Z06, but the Stingray is about even getting to 100kph, and 120kph in summer is our top legal speed on the Coquihalla Highway. Soooo, a lot of extra money for a car that's really going to tempt you into losing your licence? 500 horsepower is enough for me... I also got my warranty stretched from 3/60 to 7/60 bumper to bumper for $2400...I figured that was well worth it. The final thing was protective film on the front, roof, and doors, the door sills, and a light tint on the windows in ceramic so it blocks out heat, as well as a limo tint eyebrow at the top of the windshield. Haggled them down to $3000 for that. Love my car!

Oh and I still got screwed for the luxury tax not to mention HST
😡
You in Calgary will at least you save on the sales tax…. Bonus for you guys out west
Living where I am I saved about $12,500 because of only 5% tax !
Doesn't seem fair but not complaining for sure. Only here and the lovely province of Alberta. We all get screwed on the so called ' luxury tax ' . Tax grab I should have said.

Magnetic Ride Control is available as an option in addition to Z-51 but of course more dough. I have been wanting to drive one without it to see if it was worth the money but there is only one other here and it has it . Mind you if you turn it all the way up it's darn rigid. Not for daily driving. But in the right situation it does do the intended job.

The suspension on the non mag ride Z51 is what GM calls the FE3 suspension ..... I would say its not as stiff as the full out mag ride track mode setting

However its pretty tight ... fast turns and the car stays planted .... I really like as I have been in a couple of C8s with mag ride on the various settings and if I had to order again I would not get the mag ride .....

On smooth roads its great ..... on bumpy , pothole roads not so much but still not horrible ... Toronto is full of crappy roads and I avoid them when I take out the C8 as much as possible

i'm a fire they can't put out #corvette #c8 #pink #brunette #summer #fyp #barbie

Good to know. Not the same suspension as the Stingray . Is it adjustable in any of the settings ? Asking for someone too lazy to look it up.....

No adjustment at all ... suspension settings dont show up anywhwere as there is nothing to adjust ... In Z mode the adjustments are Steering ... braking .... engine shift and exhaust sound ... thats it
