This maybe common knowledge but I tried Windex on my front end to remove bug splatter. After a trip to Calgary yesterday my front end was covered. A couple quick squirts of Windex and the bug guts wiped right off. I tell you it sure beats the commercial bug remover.

I will give it a try, not that we have any bugs in Ontario.

Thanks for the tip.

I'll go try that right now.

Guys just make sure it's not the ammonia based one....There are a couple different kinds. I went through this a couple years ago. Tons of internet debates between regular guys and detailers. The one consistent thing in that mass of information is no ammonia.
It sure does work though....Agree with you there. :Cheers2:

1/2 way out to the garage,Gatorade in hand. Look at my bottle. Baseball is on TSN 2.

I never thought to check ingredients. The one I used contains alcohol. The front end still shines like crazy. No wax on the cloth.

If you guys check into it lots of these guys are saying not even to use windex on the glass in cars. Especially the coated glass.
Seems bizarre but that's what they are saying. I've often used it on the glass and didn't notice any issues.

Thanks for the tip Derek. Appreciate that !! Got no expel on mine but do have 2 waxings courtesy of "Noble Car Care Solutions." A little known local outfit. :canada:

Funny Mike ... How about ... "Noble Corvette Improvement Solutions" should get a lot of attention as "N.C.I.S." for the Corvette Squad eh ?
... and for the rest out there ... it is a "Owner Involvement Procedure" where "Noble" just happens to be unintentionally soaking up all the credit for these results.

however "oddly satisfying" for Brent08 (sorry inside thing)

Yes it is a "hands on owners experience." And quite rewarding driving home that first time.

This whole thread is oddly satisfying Spence (as Gibbs slaps DiNiozzo on the back of the head)

I keep the front end waxed. Road Kill (bugs) comes off real easy with water and wash brush. Then a wipe dry and more than most likely a little application of Mother's polish and glaze. The windshield gets Rejex. Great stuff, hardly have to use the wipers in the rain unless it is bucketing down.
When the missus starts complaining about me cleaning the front end all the time I just tell her it is to get all the blood and guts off. Then she is happy

I use AC Delco foaming glass cleaner on my Xpel covered nose, as well as the glass. On the front I use a Novistretch bra for highway trips, whatever bug guts and blood that makes it thru comes off very easily with the waxed Xpel film, and keeps all the stuff out the radiator and AC condensor.

I normally just foam it a couple of times and use the cheap azz hardware store pressure washer to rinse it all off from a foot away. Sometimes there are a few tougher bits so they get another foaming. Usually use some quick detail on the nose, mirrors and hood after I dry the car too.
I find that cleaning the bugs off is much easier if done right away at the end of the trip or day or else they cook on like paint. Then the chemical attack is required. :D
