Burnouts are always good! I like how you can hear the turbos spool up. That would be a fun car!

Riley, check at 37 seconds of your video in the first post -- There seems to be 2 colours of smoke there. I'm guessing the blue is tires, but there's a grey/brown smoke too under the P/S rear finder.....Could that be brake dust?

Brake burnouts must be hard on brakes (unless he has a line loc).
Just wondering.

C.

I can't find any specifics on how that car is prepared.
But, in the video, it seems to me that they MUST have a line lock.
And they MUST have active handling and traction control OFF.

Good observation Colin. My best guess on this video is just how the sun is hitting the smoke as the stuff coming from the back of the car is in the sunlight and the stuff coming from under the car is still in the shadows.

I bet those standing burnouts must be tough on the brakes!!!!

i'm having trouble trying to figure out what that proves, puts me in mind of the ijits in the downtown Carlisle parade that hold the accelerator to the floor with the car in neutral and rev it till the limiter takes over ..... yup there are all kinds of drivers! :nono:

I've thought the same stuff as well. But then, I figure that the people are are just doing what they consider fun and it's not wrecking my car, so as long as it's done responsibly, have fun at it. I don't do that stuff myself....well, actually, I am a liar. I like to make noise in the Chevelle, but not in residential areas and not when it would be being an idiot, randomly in traffic. During a cruise night, sure, give it some gas, if the tires spin a bit, no big deal. I figure people along the side of the road like to hear what a muscle car actually sounds like as opposed to just seeing these "high horsepower" cars of the 60's putt along. There are lots of car shows to see these cars, not many shows where you get to hear them strike fear in women and children. :D

I also have no idea where you would use 1200hp. But I don't care! That would be awesome!
