Over the years there has been much intrigue about the Corvette. Specials, one offs, different motors and what not. Part of what makes the car so interesting. However there never seemed to be much debate about the first and second car off the assembly line in 1953. Serial Number 3 was considered to be the first released to the public, 1 and 2 were crushed as is typical for the engineering mules.
Well maybe not so fast. Recently it has come to light that the very first Corvette down the assembly line, number 1, may have indeed survived. Trying to find some background information on what has turned up and when I do will post it here.
