I'm wondering if Rruuff is finding the wheels and tires look a bit too big for the car... and the rear seems to sit a little too high as well... IMHO.

Not the wheels. I grew up with Cragar rims and still like them. I know it's sitting on a slope but like Vintage said, It looks oddly high in the a$$. Much like a shackled up muscle car

The fact you can see so much of the actual spring makes me wonder if there are shackles lifting the back of the car. Wheels and tires are not huge 14" G70 series (I think) and the wheel wells are not exactly small on the older Corvettes. Dark colour and yes it does look odd.

Pic #1. Man on left says "What you fellers find?. Fellers on right "We're not sure , buy it ain't pretty"
Pic #2. Now we finally know why the tires were so skinny...so they would fit the assembly line rails.
Pic #3 She's only out by a couple of inches. Bob pinch the left, I'll lean on the right and you guys push from the rear. If it works then we'll pass the method down to assembly.

Yes. we do use Tim Hortons day old donuts as paint protectors
