Battery issue

So I woke up this morning and the battery was dead. Took the battery to the dealer and they gave me a new one. The car started right up but now has 2 service messages. One says service parking brake the other service transmission now…unable to shift soon. Anyone have this issue?

Did you short the 2 cables together before connecting them to the battery? That resets everything.

Yes, hold them together for about 10 seconds. Just make sure the battery is totally out of the system. Don't want any friend Srgentpeprs!

Didn’t work. Brought to the dealer and they cleared the codes as the were thrown from the low voltage. Car is back fine.

I'm surprised, but I guess it was the codes that kept it from resetting. Makes sense. Clear codes then reset. All your settings were gone right?

That really surprises me. I've heard from many that say when the battery dies the setting are lost. Interesting.
